• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

splicing iasusx3 speakers?

Hey...
I have two helmets with Sena SMH10 units. Speakers really awful. (Did all the usual ear placement, pads, etc.) Read all the great reviews here and Youtube about the IASUS X3 speakers, bought 2 pair, (costly, but WTF, it's my tunes)
and only realized the 3.5 port on the SMH10 is IN only! :banghead:
Remember the MASH episode where Radar O'Reilly is reading the instructions to defuse the bomb... (but before cutting the wire...) At this point I decided to just splice the new IASUS onto the Sena speaker wire, cut both Sena and one IASUS, and now have TWO dead Sena speakers, and ONE wasted pair of expensive IASUS with no joy coming from the IASUS.
Yes, I tried ordering the Sena SMH10 A0304 jack replacement to just plug in, but Sena discontinued making them!
Has anyone been successful splicing IASUS wire to Sena wire? I was able to splice the Sena back together, (working) but no sound after splicing the IASUS back to the original.
Me big stupid head.

I can't picture in my head what you've done but have you tried that cable?

I guess it is too late now, but there are plenty of cheap gender adapters for 3.5 stereo plugs.

Spliced how? Soldered or just twisted?

Sena SMH10 has the two speaker wire leads coming directly from the helmet clamp. Later models allowed different setups to attach to leads like you showed me. Thanks

I tried to re-splice the IASUS x3 back together again (not soldered) to restore to original condition but got no sound. Checked leads with IASUS (red/ground blue/signal) when I tried to connect to the Sena unit.

There were plenty of Youtube videos recommending the Iasus for Sena. I did not realize that my Sena SMH10 3.5 jack was only for audio in, not out.

Thanks for your reply. The Sena SMH10 is the earlier version that is hardwired to the speakers, not a plug in.
