• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spare Parts for Long Trip

I would like to have a kit of spare parts for my 2014 RTL for long trips. Does anyone have a list of the most likely needed spare parts that are easily carried and fit in one of the side panniers? As usual your informed advice is much appreciated.

Don't forget a small LED flashlight and some fuses. I also carry a tire plug kit and a CO2 inflator and hope I never need any of it!

Here's what I do..!!

mini compressor and plug kit, Duck tape, zip ties, first aid kit, oil and the micro start antigravity battery which will jump start charge cell phones operate computers etc. Anything else you can get along the way or can't fix on the roadside. The most imprortant is the spyder codes app on the phone...

Just about what I carry...

I have all these items Gene is stating in his reply. Plus I have some very long cable ties in case something gets loose, some filament (strong) tape, electrical tape, a small extinguisher, a good flashlight, and a multi-tool. I don't carry any "spare parts"....the 2014 RT L has about 8,000 trouble free miles on it now without a need to worry! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

My 2014 RT L has not used a drop of oil, but I do carry a spare quart out of habit (my 2012 RT L used to use some on a long trip). Anyways, the quart of oil is along "just in case".....may help me or a friend in need!

Good luck on your trip.

Yes I agree with the compressor and plug kit for the tires, that is the most likely part that will fail. The oil filter was if you need a change on the road we have heard of dealers not having any in stock. Duct tape or the modern equivalent zip ties are also an excellent idea. I also have a REDA can filled with gas, for those remote areas. Just no spare parts.

The 2014 is pretty reliable and so far I haven't needed anything for mine while on long trips. I do carry oil, a tire kit and compressor, anti gravity battery. I have a tool kit beyond the one that comes with the Spyder, tape, zip ties, bungie cord too.

I carry way more parts & tools than necessary.
Never had to use any.
SpyderCodes or mySpyder has a good up to date dealer list.

Thanks to all who answered my question...I looked at all the advice and now have got tools, air compressor, tire kit, zip ties, SpyderCodes, service manual on iPad, ready to head out of the neighborhood, starting to like the RTL, could be the end of 2 wheelers...
