Something really stupid people do

Here's what I hope doesn't happen, Putin doesn't get desperate or stupid enough to launch the N - - - - - - - B - - - - as in the latest news. Sorry mods, delete at your discretion.

What the Ukrainians are accomplishing emphasizes all the more why the Founders crafted the Second Amendment word for word.

Frustrations are rising. I don't think this thread is going to last much longer. Sorry BK.

:agree: about the level of frustration ....... However I gave what I posted a lot of thought ..... I don't think what I said has anything to do with Politics ..... It's all about COURAGE, and the Determination of a Free people, and how some people don't think before they act ..... JMHO .... Mike ...... ...If anyone has Private thoughts they want to share .... Please use...... my PM box

:agree: President Zelensky and his people were underestimated. Courage, Hope, Determination and Survival, are all you have in times like these.

I don't think there's any way Ukraine can "win" unless Putin gets overthrown but I'd sure like to see that happen (the winning part....the other is political). As Bill said, I hope Putin doesn't push the big red button.

Ok my take. Putin is going to be pushed into a corner. How he reacts is anybody's guess. I think Putin's economy and his forces are both rapidly eroding and will become unsustainable soon. I also think that there's going to be a breach of NATO"s article 5, however slight, and Biden will not vote to enforce article 5. Putin is counting on that and will declare the violation unintended and an accident. He's just going to keep pushing the envelope. I also think there are highly influential Russian citizens that may step up and tell Putin to knock it off and enough is enough. Hopefully, that will happen. On the other hand, I could be all wet. LOL

Totally agree with you! Putin is very unstable at the moment and no telling what he / his mind is capable of doing. All those sanctions may have been, and possibly are what's motivating his craziness. Greed and Power. I have read where other Russian influentials have tried to reason with him. We shall see how well that goes over.

Wish the utmost best for Ukranians.

No I don't think your' " all wet" ....... Here's a possibility, there are an estimated 100 " Oligarchs " in Russia. They have / control most of the money in Russia. ... How many of them are ready or willing to Die to help Putin realize His dream of re-creating the Old Russia ???? ... Putin has threatened to use His Nukes against entire world. A Nuclear war will destroy ALL life on this planet, not immediately, but within a very short time..... :agree: with " Briorick " .... JMHO .... Mike

What good is money if he gets them all killed ?
Amazing what people fighting for their homeland can accomplish.

In reality, does Putin even need boots on the ground? With the technology of ground guided missiles, jet aircraft, drones, etc., he could destroy Ukraine at minimal loss of military life. Of course, the expense would be the loss of countless innocent civilian life. War is barbaric, and it's just a matter of how much he cares (or doesn't) :(

I think you are referring to MAD, also known as "mutually assured destruction." That is where the "dead hand" comes into play. It's a scary scenario and we really don't want to go there. Believe it or not, there are still cool heads that prevail in high places who can override and prevent MAD from occurring. It's nowhere near the end times yet. I've still got a hundred thousand or two to go on my spyder so I don't want to go to the happy hunting grounds that soon. LOL

There are two points that I find interesting.

:ani29: The courage of the Ukrainians. They have accomplished way more in one month than I thought possible. Russia seems to be losing the conflict at the moment. I heard on one news broadcast that Putin expected this to be over in three days and that Ukraine would roll over and give up.

:ani29: The nuclear option: I am hoping that every one involved continues to realize that this is a bad way to go. The concept of "mutually assured destruction" is out there for sure. All those possessing the "bomb," with the exception of two...have enough stockpiles to destroy civilization as we know it.

I would like to make a statement about end times and scripture...but that is not permitted here. Those who are of similar ilk, know what I am talking about so let's leave it at that.

:agree: with what you are saying .... but I also think their are a lot of very powerful people ( like Xi ) who are not ready to die yet. And Nuclear War will end the world of life ..... ..... Mike

I was an Officer in the Army. The truth, we have ALWAYS KNOWN THAT RUSSIAN SOLDIERS, OFFICERS, TANKS, SUPPLY, AND EQUIPMENT MAINTAINANCE WAS CRAP.
This proves everything I was taught. For as Putin, here is a scenario I told my men years ago.....Comrade Leader calls the White House.
C.L.: "Mr. President, I have good news and bad news for you.
Mr.P.: " What Comrade Leader?"
CL: "Good news for you, I think, Mr. President. I have terminal cancer with 6 months to live."
Mr.P : " Well, that is the best news I've heard in years!"
CL : " Yes....I thought you would like that. Now the bad news. I don't want to die alone, I'm taking the whole world with me".
The push of a button.
We never know what a dieing man will do.

Believe it or not, one of the reasons the Ukraine army hasn’t been a pushover was due to the CIA training from 2014 on. They were trained in countering different types of attack, and sniper training (teams). They have learned well grasshopper as they would say in that old tv show.

Land Grab

:chat:..Well you never know how people will react when put to the Test. I hope they don't all die in vain. Standing up for the good of the country is a tuff thing.
Maybe other countries will help out very soon, time will tell.

Please Pray for them. .........

Apparently they also received some Green Beret training which they have publicly admitted having done a lot of good.

:agree: .... and there's this ... The Ukraine was part of Russia a couple of decades ago .... The people there decided to break away from the Motherland, and pi**ed Putin off.... He wants them back whether they like it or not ..... IMHO a Big Mistake .... " GO UKRAINE "...... Mike
