It was an extra marital affair with Paula Broadwell, who was supposed to do his biography only, not him.. Broadwell Was jealous of a Tampa, Florida socialite ms Kelly who hosted parties for Petraeus and friends. Braodwell sent threatening emails to kelly, Kelly reported it to the FBI, who then discovered the affair. That took the General down.

I'm not sure that someone can't be trusted simply because they're involved in an extra curricular activity.

We are all multifaceted individuals...the fabric of our lives is wound from thousands of different threads...
Very few of us can be "perfect", all of the time...
Some of us opps, have trouble reaching the "acceptable" level on the rare occasion...

We have a saying: "Love the Sinner; hate the sin."

I'm not sure that someone can't be trusted simply because they're involved in an extra curricular activity.

for me, i could not cheat on my wife, perhaps i could steal or kill but since i love my wife i will do nothing to betray her trust.
the fact she has kitchen knives has nothing to do with it.
now as far as a soldier goes, an officer at that, if he will betray the trust of his wife how do we know he will not betray his
oath to country?
