There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. some days i really miss my big two wheeler. i'm about 350 miles on the spyder now and still don't feel comfortable with it. maybe i'm just not un-learning two wheel skills, or, maybe it's the awful foot position. either way i'll give it more time.:(:gaah:,,,,,,,,,,,,not many miles for a senior member huh? maybe i'll just shut up.

It is likely that the more you compare your:spyder2: to your two wheeler past, the longer you will continue to be uncomfortable. It seems the secret to the :spyder2: is forgetting the past and chilling out, relaxing and enjoying the present
For awhile I rented a two wheel occasionally to dip into the past but after 18000 miles (the last 17000 of pure joy) I have totally lost the urge to regress....forget the past LIVE IN THE PRESENT. HAVE FUN

If your expecting the Spyder to feel like a 2 wheel motorcycle it won't. I have been riding motorcycles for over 35 years and the Spyder is just another type of ride. Feels more like I'm sitting on an ATV. I have over 3200 miles on my 2011 RT and I am still changing things to make it more comfortable. I added a ESI highway bracket with Kuryakyn ISO wings but my right foot gets cooked. Trying things to reduce the heat. My last ride was a HD Ultra Classic. I found that ride to be uncomfortable after about 30 minutes on the stock seat. Changed to a Sundowner which is a much firmer seat. Was then able to ride several hours before needing to take a break. Now with the stock Spyder seat I am having the same issue. I ordered a Corbin and should have it in a few weeks. I also have a ISCI FanCan to install but the instructions included with the FanCan isn't for a 2011 RT. Hopefully, reduced right side heat and the Corbin will make my Spyder much more comfortable for longer rides.

Might just be that you can't get two wheels out of your system?
I know i can't, when the weather is good i ride my two wheeler every chance i get. The Spyder is not a Motorcycle so it might take a few more miles for you to get the hang of it.
The Spyder definitely is the safer ride though.

I had the same feelings with my original 2008 GS as well as the 2010 RTS.

It took me a little over 500 miles to learn the :spyder2: so I felt comfortable compared to the two wheeler. I had been an owner of over 25 assorted two wheelers since 1965.

There is a big difference between the two rides. I still own a Vulcan 900--so I ride both types.

Give it more time and miles and you will be happy. There are several threads about getting used to the :spyder2: and the techniques recommended for riding and un-learning the "old ways".

Sounds like you need to ride :spyder2:a little more and less posting on spyderlovers. :roflblack::roflblack: After 500 miles and you learn to relax you will enjoy it alot more. I have over 2,300 miles on my RS. It took me about 500 miles or so. However I never rode two wheels so it might take you a little longer. My hubby said it took him over 500 miles on his RT before he started to get comfortable and he had over 35 years on 2 wheels. He now has over 19,000 on his 2010 RT and still can't ride it enough. He always tells everyone he doesn't like the :spyder2: he loves it. Best thing on three wheels yet. Good luck and ride ride ride. CJ

It had been almost 10 years since I have ridden on or in anything with less than 4 wheels, and I will admit the last two weeks have been a re-learning curve. I have already put almost 1k miles on :spyder: in 2 weeks though. Been fun getting lost randomly in the back country roads around here... Found out that NC roads could use some work though, some of them are scary rough.

There's no doubt that the spyder just ain't gonna feel like a motorcycle... If you have an ATV or snowmobile experience, that might be a bit more akin to the sensations that you'll feel. Try to relax and just give it some time for the whole "Trypod thing" to sink in...
I'll get better with time!

We have many of the same mods YRider. The right foot can be an issue. Check out my post here. I now have a pic of what I did to install the can. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=348285#post348285

:agree: Although my experience on both 2 and 3 wheels is limitted, I can say that there is a world of difference between them. But what I truly enjoy is that I rYde the open road, and I truly feel confident in 3 wheels. And with my wife now rYding, she can compare with Carol's statement. She rode 200 miles this weekend and loved every mile, sweat and minute she rode. We even swapped for a little bit on the ride (5 miles) and decided that she likes her (un-moded) RS-S better.

500 miles on a Spyder seems to be the sweet spot in a love hate relationship. I also rode two wheelers for years, triked my '02 Gold Wing with a '05 Motor Trike kit and cried the sixty miles on the way home. I rode 100 miles and said this is not too bad. Rode another 400 miles and I love my Motor Trike, I now have 61K on it.

Bought my 2011 RT, rode 25 miles, stopped and cried. Rode 200 miles and said, I have made a big mistake. Rode 500 miles and said, okay, I will ride another 500 and if I am still crying, I will sell it. Turned 2,600 on it Saturday and love it. I adjusted the shocks and air pressures to my liking and it rides better than my GW. It is a keeper.
