• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Some advice please....

Those folks with Go-Pro 3+ ( or 3, 2 etc.) can you give me some advice where I can
mount the camera on the Spyder.....I have an RS-S. Which mounting hardware do you use?
Thank you.

Sorry??

No need for apologies, Steve! I'm just after some ideas for my new Go-Pro 3+ Black.
Then I'll be able to show you all some really boring UK videos!!:D

Depends..!

if you have feed back and can see what your filming. Your choice of view. I have placed it in many locations with the suction cup and a tether and has worked well...take a few practice runs for stability quality and angle...:thumbup:

You might want to do different mountings for different views.
i'm think of mounting the camera on the front lip at the bottom,
also one that shows the wheel and shocks.
have fun.

Cheers for that Chupaca! I've also bought the BacPac for the 3+ which is a touch screen which fixes to the back of the Go-Pro.
This I think I will use when setting up the camera as I'll be able to see what I'm aiming at.
I have thought that suction mount may not be too secure (if the one on my Garmin sat-nav in my car is anything to go by!) and the last thing
I need to happen is for $500 bucks worth of camera to go flying down the road! That would ruin my day!
Neither do I really like the idea of permanent adhesive mounts.....so clamps, I think, will be the way to go so as to give me as many places to mount the camera as possible.....it a shame that Go-Pro elected not to use a standard screw mount on their cameras, most likely a commercial decision!

 Thanks to all
for your most helpful ideas for a solution and please keep 'em coming! Although I have had conventional still cameras for decades, any type of video is a new thing and totally different! ( I haven't even got the thing yet....it's still in transit to my local store! )

GoPro moounting

owning a gazillion cameras with a 1/4-20 mount, I can attest to bemoaning the lack of one on the GoPro and also understand why they DON'T have it…it just won't hold….

they DO however, have THIS:

and if you really wanna go nuts with mount points, look at some of these cages people have come up with...http://www.cinema5d.com/news/?p=23223

personally, I got JT's dash mount & RAM system for my RT but have just put my phone on it so far….maybe this weekend I'll break out a go pro….

helmet mount

oj, i mounted my go pro black 3+ on my spare helmet. that way when i want to use it, i just switch helmets. we used it in the islands a couple of months ago and the quality of the video was fine. i just don't like the look of the extra hardware on the spyder when its not in use.

Hey frelancr thank you so much for all of those alternative ways to mount a Go-Pro.
Much food for thought there....the tripod adapter is a relatively cheap option and I can get
it in the UK for around $15.

Spydagirl! I'm honoured to be your first post on this truly excellent forum!

I don't have a spare helmet to use on the Spyder but your suggestion is very helpful.
Thank you!
