Not sure how the rest of the Sprint network is, but their Nextel coverage is pretty bad. I couldn't use my cell at Lamont's house...had to wait until I was nearly Lexington, KY, before I even had two bars. At least lamont can use AT&T from his house. I don't know if WiFi could have worked, but the MiFi sounds like just the ticket for my netbook.I've got another year left on my AT&T contract and then WILL change to Verizon. AT&T coverage is just flat out terrible. On my various rides last year my friends with Verizon all had great service--- but I barely did unless near a big city.
I wouldn't talk and surf at the same time anyway-- so I could care less about that.
Hopefully after a year we'll know for sure how well Verizon is handling the extra traffic and maybe they'll have the 4G version out by then.
I really like my iphone and all the apps - and don't want to lose all that-- so I'll most likely stick with an iphone in the future--- but the droid is pretty nice too.
Competition of iphone carriers will be good for all of us.
For my mobile and home internet I've been using a Sprint card that works pretty darn good--- but just dumped that and bought a Virgin Mobile MiFi unit--- which runs off the Sprint network so the speed and coverage is the same-- but Virgin only charges $40 a month for unlimited--- and no contract. Pretty slick setup so far.
I'll be staying with AT&T, no real complaints. I might upgrade to the new iPhone 5 when it comes out this summer.![]()
