• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So any Verizon folks going to get the iphone?

I'm ok with AT&T... Customer service sucks but the signal is strong and I can surf the web while doing a voice call. However, when AT&T dropped their unlimitted downloads charge if you renewed the contract (which I didn't so I grandfathered the plan). My last stats showed that between my wife and I we downloaded 4.5 GB in one month and their plan is $25 for 2 GB. Eventually this will go back to the unlimited plan if Verizon plays their cards right. I might just go Verizon Android and flip the middle finger to the iPhone alltogether.

I read in Wired Magazine that the Verizon transition pissed Steve Jobs because the phone had to be re-built to accomodate Verizon's CDMA technology and not a true 4G network (although AT&T runs on 3G still). I'm guessing that Jobs decided to have Verizon use Apple technology is to avoid monopoly charges since a couple of AT&T/Apple lawsuits where starting to grab attention.

Contract is up in March and will be getting one then (hopefully the antenna issue has been resolved)! Have had cell service with all the major carriers and Verizon is the best and most dependable (other than Nextel Direct which went down the drain after Sprint (by far the worse carrier) purchased it) and I can add my OnStar vehicle as an added phone too.

I'll be holding off till I see what if any problems the Verizon network has with millions of new iphone users. I would take a big hit if I went back now anyway and my phone is working fine, I just wish I had better signal and coverage from time to time. I think it's good to see them pick it up so maybe AT&T will be forced to step up their game.

I've got another year left on my AT&T contract and then WILL change to Verizon. AT&T coverage is just flat out terrible. On my various rides last year my friends with Verizon all had great service--- but I barely did unless near a big city.

I wouldn't talk and surf at the same time anyway-- so I could care less about that.

Hopefully after a year we'll know for sure how well Verizon is handling the extra traffic and maybe they'll have the 4G version out by then.

I really like my iphone and all the apps - and don't want to lose all that-- so I'll most likely stick with an iphone in the future--- but the droid is pretty nice too.

Competition of iphone carriers will be good for all of us.

For my mobile and home internet I've been using a Sprint card that works pretty darn good--- but just dumped that and bought a Virgin Mobile MiFi unit--- which runs off the Sprint network so the speed and coverage is the same-- but Virgin only charges $40 a month for unlimited--- and no contract. Pretty slick setup so far.

Not sure how the rest of the Sprint network is, but their Nextel coverage is pretty bad. I couldn't use my cell at Lamont's house...had to wait until I was nearly Lexington, KY, before I even had two bars. At least lamont can use AT&T from his house. I don't know if WiFi could have worked, but the MiFi sounds like just the ticket for my netbook.

There have been times where I've lost internet or power here and I've had to tether my iphone to my computer to get work done and even though I'll only have 2 or 3 bars here on edge it still gets the job done. My father inlaw has a droid and he gets 3g here so it would be better for stuff like that.

By the way he wants to get rid of his droid so bad and get an iphone he can taste it. :2thumbs:

No cell service here where I'm tucked up against the mountains... What's a cell phone for???
(Still using my Onstar as the best of some very poor choices!) :cus:

I'll stick with my Hello & Goodbye phone. My use of a cell phone is to check in at home when I'm on the road. More than three calls a week is a lot.

Lamonte i knew you would bring this up!!
ok my daughter wants one real bad but from what i understand if you get one right away you wont beable to talk and be doing something else at the same time. However they are suppose to do an upgrade and their wont be any problems? Oh in case nobody heard about it look for the "IPHONE 5" coming soon. We have verizon and always able to connect no dropped calls been very reliable and free calls to other verizon customers. I will wait and see.:clap::clap::clap:
