• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Smoky Mountain Weather

I was in Townsend, Tn. Friday thru Monday. It rained every day, all day. Rode some of the routes we will ride next month, hopefully. The dragon had LOTS of Mini Cs' and only about two dozen bikes. But it was very messy weather. Rode the Foothills Pkwy. Nice sweeping curves. Also attempted to ride the Cherohola (?) Skyway. It was so foggy and dismal, I finally turned around and came back to Robbinsville, rode thru Bryson City, Cherokee and back up the mountain to Townsend,Tn. Rode by the casino in Cherokee. Not a lot of vehicles in the parking lot. :dontknow: Also rode thru Cades Cove. This is a beautiful 11 mile, one way loop passing by old cabins, old churches and lots of wildlife. You didn't have to look very far to find a waterfall. The rivers are overflowing and there are mini waterfalls on the sides of the mountains. I was in my car, not riding my Spyder. I am really looking forward to next month.
Riding in this beautiful area, meeting Spyder owners and of course, sampling Lamont's BBQ.

The last time in Maggie Valley we definitely had some rain - a couple times severe, but there was plenty of clear ryding time as well.. I suspect the weather will be a bit better in 30 days than now...

With the crazy weather that we are getting now a days be prepared for anything! I suspect though that we will have less rain than Spyderfest but it "always" rains a little overnight in the mountains. A bike cover, even a bikini cover to keep the seat and instruments dry is a must. Also a set of Froggs tucked into a saddle bag is good insurance. Also be prepared for cool damp mornings with warm muggy afternoons! A bad day in the mountains is still better than a good day at work!

I think BRP ought to consider moving the event to a time when there is no possibility of rain or maybe to another location that is dry and neither too hot nor too cold. It must be Just right. :roflblack:

There's not too much rain in the Mojave Desert...
The weather will always be what it is; we roll with the punches!
