• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Slingshot has me curious!

I just passed my third Sling Shot in less than a month. I think they are quite cool looking. But deep down I am truly a Polaris guy anyway. It would not replace my Spyder but if the wife would let me park her Tahoe outside I would think about getting one.

I wanted one, that is until I had a chance to sit in one. Instantly knew it wasn't for me. It's no longer cool to me, and no longer gets my attention.

I'm going to be trying one out (if) Spidey sells. Not going to tease myself since I can't justify having both and market is a little soft around here on used Spidey. Still thinking it's a 3 wheeled car though so unless it 'wow's me I'll be trying to find an older R1100RT.

A Spyder is a safer, three wheeled motorcycle.

A Slingshot is more dangerous and more open, three wheeled car.

Aside from the number of wheels, they are strikingly different animals. Take a test ride and see what you love, but they aren't at all the same.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The Slingshot is cool, but not in anyway a replacement for a Spyder or motorcycle.:doorag:

C/mon... what are the odd of this happening?? :D

Interesting comments. It just so happens that there is a brand new Indian/Victory/Slingshot dealership in Chattanooga over near Pandora BMW.

Was over there yesterday, I think they are going to be a good customer oriented Dealership. BTW......The new Indians are very nice.

The 2016 Scout now has ABS.

Hmmm...just curious. If you are a Polaris guy why do you ride a BRP Spyder?

I own both and....

I have a 2015 RTS and a 2015 Slingshot. In my opinion you can't compare the two. My Spyder is wonderful and very cool. The Slingshot, since it's new to the scene, makes such a "large" statement that mobs gather around it. Some Slingshots have "some" issues, but there is little doubt they look bad-ass. My advice is to blow off the opinions of those who've merely sat in one. First thing you should do is start reading and then decide whether you want to proceed:

I have seen a few Slingshots around my area and for some reason I always chuckle to see a grown man in a batman vehicle.

We saw one yesterday. :yikes: It was going down the road on the other side of the divided Glenn Highway. So, I could not do a chase and question. They don't sell them here that I have been able to find. A white haired gentleman with no helmet was the pilot. I did not know him. :dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:

I just picked up a 2015 Scout. Wish I would have waited till the '16's were out.
It is the most comfortable, smoothest and fastest motorcycle I've ever owned. Highly recommended!

We were eyeballin' a SS at the dealer where we picked up the Scout. Not enough time to check it out further. :(

Excellent looking bike.

There were 2 Slingshots at Spyders in the Redwoods, one was driven by Mr. Looney, a former Spyder owner and the other by a guy who wore batman shirts everyday. One of them was parked near where we were doing alignments and I got to spend a lot of time looking at the back end of it and I must say that the back end is really unattractive. Mr. Looney had an alarm on his that would sound if anyone got too close to it, that was very annoying.

If you really need to know. I wanted a 4 stroke snowmobile and Polaris did not make a machine to those specifications. While I was at my BRP dealer I told the wife that the Spyder sitting out front was really cool and will have to get one of those also. In case you are uninformed Polaris does not make one of those (Spyder) either. Although I think the Sling Shot is also cool but I would not replace my Spyder with one. I would consider having a SS as another toy, but it is unlikely. I would rather purchase another Spyder for the wife.
