• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Skidplate

I'll be watching for your install. I'll be posting mine also.
I wonder who will get theirs first? :2thumbs:

Mine showed up today...
Did yours arrive also?
I'm chickening out, and having the dealer install it. :opps:
He's also tackling a Stebel horn, and some warranty work for me at the same time...
Next Tuesday!

I took the easy route and had Spyderpops install mine at Spyderfest.. I think you would have enough room to do what needs to be done with car ramps.

My bike was going to the dealer anyway for some warranty work...
Somehow, my MP-3 plug in the top trunk came loose,
My radio quit working; I think that the antenna became disconnected,
... and I've got two cracked mirror mounting clips.
...I just figured it might as well be the tech doing the wrenching and drilling; than me! :yikes:

be very careful when drilling holes for the bump skid... you could drill a hole in the radiator... try this... cut a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe just long enough for the drill bit to extend about 3/4" past the length of the PVC pipe , use the PVC pipe as a depth gauge (put the PVC pipe on the drill bit).. that way when drilling holes the drill won't extend deep enough to drill into the radiator or radiator hoses ..

Or just put some stop leak in the radiator and DRILL AWAY! :roflblack:

It shows to deliver tomorrow. I may tackle the install this weekend. It's suppose to rain through late next week so I don't think I'll get enough miles on it to take it to the dealer for it's first service and have them do it.
Of course things change so if it's nice, I might get some miles and then have them do it. I have a stebel horn to get installed also.

:D Jeez... We're both "Stebelling", and "Spyderpopping" our bikes!! :D

I'd say that "Great minds think alike.", but I wouldn't want to insult you!

Who ever said a NY'er and a Texan couldn't think alike?

I always hate ordering things because I'm so impatient. I HATE WAITING!! :banghead:

And I'd bet you a silver dollar, that you're pretty okay about guns too...
"Patience", is the ONE virtue, that none of us can wait to acquire! :D

-Do they fit all Spyders ? I have a 2014 St-limited ?

Do you have to drill holes into the Spyder for mounting ? :dontknow:

Thanks ! :clap::thumbup:

I have 2013 ST limited and installed the bumpskid two weeks ago. I did not have to drill new holes and replace with the new nut plates. The new screws went into the exciting threaded frame. I thought that the new screws were a different thread but were the same. It's still there. .so I guess it's good.

I installed mine yesterday. Pretty easy to do. The first thing is to temporarily mount it with the four existing holes and then drill the others. Make sure the front tip lines up with front body point. I used blue painters tape to hold the front up while I drilled the holes. There are two holes you drill in metal frame. Use a good drill bit. The instructions are easy to follow.

I found Spyderpops instructions for my '14 RT-S bumpskid very well written and easy to follow. Plain old wheel ramps from Harbor Freight got the Spyder high enough off the ground to do the job. There is also greater clearance on the '14 radiators so the risk of holing something was reduced. It was a good first farkle exercise I put on as soon as I got the roadster home from the dealership.

Twin Brothers; from different Mothers! :2thumbs:

Well it seems it's going to be awhile till I get my skidplate. The wonderful mail service that it was shipped through, won't deliver it without the Business name on the delivery slip.
It was shipped to my wife's work, her name, address and suite number was on the slip but not her company name. She ordered it with the company name, attention her name but it didn't get put on the slip.
SOOOO those people said it was undeliverable and shipped it back.:mad::mad::mad:

I'll have to wait till he gets it back and have it shipped differently. :banghead:
