There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Side mirror wobble

I have a 2012 RT-S and with about 5000 miles on it I noticed that my side mirrors are a little too wobbly. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and they quickly told me that it is another design flaw with the Can-Ams. Seems they are held in place by a clip which sometimes becomes "dislodged"...a term I'll throw out there. Anyone else out there had this problem and how did they go about fixing it? Thanks in advance!

Tell you what I did on my 2015 RT Limited. I didn't have the mirror wobble like you, but I wanted to add a little more tightness and security to my mirrors so I got a couple of stainless security torx metal screws #8 x 3/4" (the ones with the center pins in them), drilled one hole in an appropriate spot in the case of each mirror (I chose the front), and then screwed them to the front cowl. Now the mirrors can't be easily popped off without a security torx bit and the mirrors also have more rigidity. The visible stainless screw looks exactly like the screws on the side tupperware that hold the push-pins so it looks like a BRP mod.

I'm guessing they all develop this "wobble" once the plastic's been taken off a couple times. I too added a screw to both mirrors, but I also just ordered new clips for the mirrors too. I absolutely hate the way the mirrors are mounted, but whadaya gonna do? My Honda had something similar....had to be "popped" off by smacking them forward off some pins. It was similar, but MUCH better. They always snapped back on securely. Once you take the mirrors off once, you'll see exactly what happens. Pretty hoaky design

If you look at the mirror's mounting points; you'll see a couple of "pointy-things"...
They have to get squeezed in between the parallel wire clips, that are on the bike...
If they're starting to get bent, take them out and straighten them up as best you can; that'll tighten the mirrors up...

If you go to the Body and Accessories Console parts diagram for your Spyder look for Item #60b in the display, Part #219800156, housing. Do check the part number with your dealership parts man. If you replace them or straighten the springs in them the looseness should go away. The looseness of the mirrors can be the result of improper removal, i.e., tugging as opposed to popping. For an excellent example of how to remove a mirror see about the 11:30 point in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPeb1YqV4Gw&feature=youtu.be

 Thanks for the video!
You are the "Bob of Choice"; among discerning Spyder owners!

They all do that. Finless Bob hit the problem - and the solution - right on the head with his video above. But if you follow his advice and still your mirror is wobbly, just ask your dealer to get you some more of those clips. As you saw in Bob's video, you can replace the clips yourself. They are not that expensive, and you will get several thousand miles out of a new set.

If you have a 2013 RT be sure to look up the part # as they are different for 13 only. They even are right and left side specific.

I had my dealer change the top stud and clip on my 2013 rtl for the other stud and clip. No more special clips on mine.

Be careful when ordering these clips. I ordered them from the BRP parts website and got four clips without the return angle on them to hold them onto the black plastic part. Called the dealer and he did not know anything about what the clips should look like. After three days he called back and said that is what BRP had sent him. Checked again and told me he had the correct clips and would send them to me, if I returned the old ones. Told him it would cost more to ship back the parts than the parts, so thanks for his help and no thanks for the parts. Did as shown in the video and straitened the old clips. Just letting people know about this.

i did too

Swapped out the top ball stud & clips on my 2013 RT-S & replaced them with the one for the 2014's. This still left a little bit of play on the mirrors which was easily solved by wrapping the end od the upper ball stud with some black electrical tape. All 14's and up have play on the top ball stud. Solution electrical tape! Why did BRP change the mounting hardware on the 13's only to return to what worked?
