• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I Jump Ship, Wing to Spyder???

:welcome:Lots of good advice on here. I never owned a Wing, but had a ST1100 before Spyder. I ride solo, never felt the need for a Wing. I was able to keep both the ST1100 and buy a spyder RS/GS. The Spyder RS/Gs quickly became my main/almost always ride. I kept the St1100 for over two years before I sold it off to a good home. I kept the RS/GS until the RT came out. I did not like the seating position on the RS/GS, but loved everything else. My age and weight did not help on the RS. I am over six foot tall. Age :cus:, weight:cus:.
The Rt is great, lots of storage space. easy to ride after a short learning curve. All good advice on here. Try both versions, RT and RS, the semi-auto or manual.
As a aside, I used to belong to Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Most of the people I let ride the RT (in the parking lot) felt the Rt was a much better deal. It made little difference if they were on two or three wheels.
One guy hated the Rt, everything was wrong. Other facts, he hates every motorcycle but his 1200 Gold Wing. It is a nice one or was before he dropped it at least three times last year. His wife will not get on with him. :lecturef_smilie: :lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie:

From a Wing

We transitioned from a Wing to the Spyder and would not readily return. As was mentioned, an extended test drive is in order. I first drove an RS of some flavor, and was spooked as well. When I left the motorcycle brain out of it, it was a much better ride. We took some time, to try different suspension/tire pressure settings suitable for 2 up, and as of now, this beats any day we ever spent on the Wing. This is not bashing, just my experience. Happy Hunting

When I spoke earlier, I was speaking of going from a Wing trike to a Spyder. IF going from a two wheeler, it would be no decision knowing what I know. I had a GL1500 before and rode this Wing four years before triking it. Go for it. I would not go back to two wheels...JMHO

I love my Wing Motor Trike...it is a great machine, handles very well and the ride is smooth and very safe. You should explore this alternative to three wheels. The Spyder is a fine machine, but so is the Wing. With different Spyder models and pricing, triking your present Wing may be a cost difference you can not overlook.

I will keep my Wing trike for a while, and like Mark Lawson, ride both as they are both a hoot. My '02 will be ten years old in November...it is just too good to sell and not worth a great deal.....so I will keep it, at least for a while.

That said....IF I do not like the RT after one year and/or 6-7,000 miles, I will sell both, get a new Wing and trike it.
