There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Should BRP feel slighted?

Huh???????????

I quite agree...your points are well taken. Despite that, it doesn't hurt to remind Quebec that their loyal Spyder fans are watching and waiting...and we have limits to our patience.:chat:

We have "patience"?

My observation is that whenever anyone mentions "patience", they have already run out. :D

I don't care how BRP thinks. I am giving them a chance right now to tell me what's up with my bike. If it's no idea and it happens again, I'm getting rid of it. But I'm giving them a chance - but doesn't mean I have to live w/ it if it doesn't get solved.:dontknow:

Yup...

That's exactly how I feel...:agree:

I was on my way to Harley last weekend - putting that on hold right now. If they fix it, I won't be at Harley but if they don't, I've got a streetglide trike in my future.

You couldn't pay me to take a Harley trike :barf:

Now a 1200GS with a quick release side car.......yeah I could live with that.

I prefer riding to watching and waiting. If it's going to break then it's going to break. Gives me something to fix when the weather is bad and I can't ride anyway! :ohyea:

So far my Spyder has been 90% fun and 10% even MORE fun!

:agree:

:roflblack: If Spyder owners are unhappy with their steering, they should try a hack sometime. Sidecars are asymmetrical...and mostly evil! I love them, but most of them are a real handful to drive and a workout to boot. One ride will convince most folks that the Spyder is safe and sane. :D

I think working together to find solutions and informing BRP is a better way to go...

I agree. If it were not for this website and everyone discussing these issues, where would we be? Going it alone?

I for one appreciate the website and most contributions.

It would be interesting to know how many disenfranchised Spyder owners are going to a Harley trike and how many dissatisfied Harley Trike owners will be dumping their ride for a Spyder.

Each one thinking they are getting rid of a lemon and moving up to a better deal.

You just know it has to be going both ways. I guess that's life.

My feeling is a good Spyder beats a good Harley trike in most every respect from price to handling, safety to ride (maybe losing out in the fuel mileage aspect).

I will get the Streetglide trike if they can't fix my Spyder.

But I'm hoping to keep my Spyder - I like the two wheels in front thing better but if it's not gonna be reliable, then Im' getting rid of it.

Edit to add: BUT if they can make my Spyder where I'm not scared of it, I will keep it till it's paid off and then get the RT next :)

HDs have a long history of problems...they are not any better than a Spyder...if you want a reliable bike, get a metric...

I had a Honda Shadow 750 - great bike but it was too light for highway riding - felt like I was getting blown all over the place. Also, Honda doesn't make trikes - I'd have to go aftermarket to make one a trike.

I think everything has it's problems but the Harley I had previous to the Spyder ran great - Softail Deluxe. And it was nice on the highway - never felt like I was getting blown around. Just couldnt' handle it anymore with my neck problems (which is so strange - mysteriously disappeared). Xrays showed all sorts of spurs - maybe they broke and went away. Now it's all lower back issues.

Harley has been up and down over their long history. There have been periods where their product was junk and times when they produced a quality machine.

I'd say Harley has been on an upswing over the last decade or so. Though you could debate the price vs. value aspect, Harley seems to be putting out a reliable machine these days.

Still, individual units can be problematic even though the overall product is excellent. This is true across the board with any product.

Also seems to me that Harley holds it's value compared to other brands. I never really took a major hit w/ both of mine.

I think Harley probably does hold it's value better than many other brands. I buy my motorcycles to ride, not to resell. I usually keep them for quite some time.

The guys who are always trying to ride the latest hot bike, jumping from this one to the next one, tend to lose a lot more money than I do, even if I have something that loses more value.

I guess I try to enjoy what I have. Of course, if I had something that I couldn't live with that would be a different story.

Any time you buy a vehicle new you're probably going to take a pretty good hit, especially if you trade it in as opposed to selling it outright. No matter what they tell you, you'll get it coming and going on a trade-in (though they are expert at making you feel good about it).

Back when Harley could not keep up with demand a used one went for premium price. I am not sure that holds these days, especially with the economy in the tank as it is.

I've got a friend that has had his Harley for sale at the dealer for several months. This is only one case but he isn't thrilled with how little he will probably get for it when it finally sells.

Time of year also makes a big difference in what a motorcycle will bring.

Actually, the Harley Servicar was manufactured from 1932 to 1973, and the Indian Dispatch Tow was made from 1934 to 1953. Guess they meant currently on the market.

Scotty, did you have to put a deposit in your 1932 HD Servicar, how long was the wait? :roflblack: sorry!:shemademe_smilie:

Very likely that I will buy one too! But I am keeping my Spyder, my "backwarmer" wants to take her away from me...:doorag:

The Spyder is the only vehicle I've ever dispatched because of mechanical issues. Every HD I've ever owned has been reliable, for that matter I have never owned anything that gave me as many issues as the Spyder did. It is easy to over look one fault in a product. But multiple faults of varying degrees got a little too hard to swallow.
