• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sh*t...I can't stop thinking about it.

We finally had a nice day in upstate NY. I took our 2010 RT out for a nice ride through a lot of country roads. Instead of enjoying the scenery all I could think about was a new 2014 RT limited. She will absolutely kill me, even if I simply mention it. I've got to come up with a plan!

It's got to be HER idea! Glad you had a good day!

:agree: Take the, "Financial Oversight Committee", out on a test ride! :D
When she sees and feels how much smoother and relaxed it is; you won't even NEED to mention the better fuel economy... ;)

"I've got to come up with a plan." The plan is... Just come home with a '14, that's the plan! Don't over think it. She will still love you when she done being mad. She will love the '14 just as much as you when she rides it. It's good for the economy. It's not what your country can do for you, it's what you can do your country, and that's buying a 2014 RT Limited. Mom's apple pie and baseball. The defense rests your honor.

If it happens I think that will be the plan..."Just come home with 14". If I do it and you no longer hear from me you can be quite sure my body mysteriously assumed room temperature.

Well gentlemen to make a major purchase without the knowledge of the other partner is asking for serious trouble. If my husband came home with a $30,000 piece of equipment without my knowledge he would be in the dog house for a long time. The same holds true for me. I would never buy something of that magnitude without my husbands knowledge and OK. Ours is a household of joint income and joint consensus. It is a matter of respect for each other. Amen.

:agree: In theory...
And I DID mention a joint test ride... ;)
But sometimes; STUFF happens.
So I always make sure that MY dog house is well-stocked!

Here's what you do..!!

total up the maintenance expenses, mph savings etc making it a mjor savings reason...!!

park it in the ghetto

with the key in it, and leave it running.

Every time my wife gets on our 2014 RTL she says: "I still can't believe how much smoother this one runs, and it feels so much better too! I really love it! I'm so glad we traded our old one (2010 RTS) in on this!"

So plan is: "Honey....I keep reading on Spyderlovers how everyone is so impressed with the new 2014. What do you say we go take one for a ride and see what we think?...I'm not saying we should get one....let's just see how it is so when it DOES come time to trade in our 2010 we know if its worth it or not." Then after the ride ask her what she thinks before you say anything.

Good Luck !!

It is the best

I had a '10 RT and loved it for 70k miles. But, trust me, when I say WOW there is absolutely no comparison when you ryde the '14...I can guarantee even the passenger will be :yes::thumbup:

Hope his dog house is big enough for the Spyder:bdh:

I had a similar predicament, and in the end a major breakdown with her on the back of the bike a few hundred miles from home convinced us both to spend the money.

I hope you don't have the same experience, but I would consider being straight forward and asking her to take a test ride with you.

I would not invest that kind of money without her being on board, you'll likely have a smoother and faster ride straight out the door of your home.

Go for it, then come home with the 2014 RT and a popup camper trailer and tell her it followed me home. If that doesn't work, you have to sleep. That's IMHO.
