• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

3 days - two hotels - 472 miles and my 2012 RTS

Finally, a couple of days with some blue sky and warm weather, so the wife and I sat down with Google maps and planned a road trip.
Decided we would go West first, then head inland for some mountain roads, before setting the course for home.
First destination was "Byrkjedals tunet" a group of traditional build timber houses. The stay was great and our dinner later on was amazing, our compliments to the chef.

Day two we set off to "Lysefjord", a fjord known for its famous place - the "Pulpit rock" where Tom Cruise went in the Mission Impossible movie. There is an outlook point situated high in the mountainside where you can look down into the place "Lysebotn" in the end of the fjord. Amazing views. By the end of the day, we arrived at our second stay over, "Bykle Hotel". The Staff was so friendly and welcoming and made us feel "at home". Our room was nice and tidy, and we loved to sit on our own little porch and look at the mountains. Again, we were so satisfied with the food we got served in the restaurant for dinner. Nothing left on our plates, and we might have over-eaten a tad :opps: We still managed to drink a beer each from the local micro-brewery, tasted wonderful!

Day three we set course for "Haukeli", a small place where the roads connect East to West. This mountain road is also known to be closed a lot during winter due to snow blizzards. We crossed over and into the valley and the scenery changed from scattered birch trees to lush fields of corn and hillsides covered with forests. The temp also went up, so we had to put the jackets away and ride in our t-shirts instead. The rest of our round trip was just about enjoying the scenery and taking in the smells of riding through nature on a motorcycle - awesome!

The old Spyder ran great without any issues at all, and I am so happy with it. It caught a lot of bugs, but it got a good wash and makeover as soon as we got home and had unpacked.

Here is a screenshot of our route. Start and finish is at the red peg.

Looks like an awesome ride.
Norway is on my bucket list to visit.
My Great Grandparents were from Lillehammer. They immigrated to the US and ended up in Wisconsin. The closet I've been to Norway is via Ham radio. I talk to folks in Norway when the conditions are good.
Cheers and congrats on a great ride.

Ty sir and it was.
Hope you make it over here sometime.
Lillehammer is famous for being the host of the 1994 winter Olympics, and the local community still benefit from it.
Many Norwegians emigrated to America due to bad times over here way back, my wife has family in Minnesota somewhere.

Thank you Martin for the write up and the video. It just goes to show that it doesn"t need to be a long adventure to be an interesting story.

My pleasure sir and thank you.
Great things might happen on the shortest ride! (I should make that a bumpersticker ;) )
