• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Setting belt tension - anyone converted 160lbs to newtons & used that?

I know the consensus is to set belt tension to 160lbs with the wheel on the ground. Has anyone converted that to newtons, approximately 710n, and set the tension with the wheel on the ground to that tension?

I do mine on the ground with my Krikit, where it counts.

Adjusting where it runs I do with it in the air, then put it down and check the tension.

But im having trouble understanding your question.

Online calc shows 160 foot pounds is about 216 newton meters.

Where do you get 710 nm , its about 3 x .
 
The current spec states newtons, not newton meters, so I converted to lbs instead of foot lbs. I believe that this is the proper conversion.
the current spec of 750 meters if calculated as newton meters would be 553 foot lbs, way too high for belt tension.
