• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I know this is probably been answered before, but I could not find the thread.
Question is do I need the blue tooth dongle to be able to use the Sena 20s dual headsets, on a 2014 RTS? No gps, just intercom with passenger and to be able to listen to iPod.
Any help with this would be great.

So I will try to answer.

The 20S headsets allow communications to your passenger without anything else.

Now for iPod or music from your phone.

There are a couple ways to do this:

You can bind your iPod or phone to your helmet and then SHARE what you hear with your passenger. To do this you do not plug the iPod or phone into the cable in the trunk. BUT with that said, you can only control some basic functions of the iPod/phone like skip songs forward or back using the 20S jog dial. You WONT be able to control the iPod/phone from the handlebars and see it on the dash. To have full control of your iPod/phone you have to mount it somewhere that you can access the screen. This is a "way" of doing it without the BT dongle.

So if you want to have the iPod/phone plugged into the trunk and thus controlled by your Spyder (via handlebars and dash), AND you want both you and your passenger to hear it in your helmets, then yes, you do need the BT dongle.

Basically what the BT dongle does is stream (or output) ANYTHING that comes from the Spyder's entertainment system to your helmets. Radio, iPod, etc.
