Seat Cushions

Another question I have about seat cushions for the RT.

I'm looking at the Airhawk cushion, and also considering the sheepskin cover.

My main problem is my inner thighs, where they rub against the seat. Some lower back pain as well.

Would the Airhawk take care of this problem, or is something else recommended?

Anyone else having these issues while driving?

The "Airhawk R" is a great cushion, it allows you to ride on air and elevates you slightly off the seat, keeps your tail bone and other parts off the seat.

Go to a Harley store, they have 3 different sizes of seat pads. They really let the air cool you in the hot months. For extra cooling put a little water on the pad, found this out by leaving it on the seat and caught a quick little rain shower. Riding it home it was like I had a A/C unit under me.

I read that and had to take a drink of water to stop laughing, that would make me feel like i peed my pants. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I have both back and hip issues. I use a combination of the above--depending on the "pain of the day."

:ani29:: Floorboards have been added to both vehicles. They permit me to move my foot position around as needed.

:ani29:: Also in my arsenal, are an Airhawk cushion and a sheepskin/gel pad. I usually start out with no pads. When the position needs changing I usually go with one, or the other, and a few times both.

The changes usually result in a more comfortable ride for the duration.

I ride an RT, and have both the standard AirHawk and the AirHhawk R, and the R is much more comfortable than the standard. It is a GREAT seat cushion!

seat pad

I have both = gel pad and sheep skin. I have a 2012 RT with home made floor boards. For all day rydes I put gel pad on seat, then sheepskin over that, works super for me. I do ryde with only gel pad only, or sheepskin only. This may sound like a lot, but this combo is way cheaper than a new seat. I really like all tho options this combo gives me.

we got the can am comfort seat...but we really don't feel the difference.....

help guys...we are headed to spyderfest ...and would like a little relief.....

Seat Pads

I started out with the stock seat on my ST-S and my behind would get very uncomfortable after about 25 miles. Switched to the Ultimate seat, but no appreciable difference. I then tried a bead rider and that helped a little, but still not satisfied. Finally went to an Airhawk R and sheepskin cover and that did the trick. I can now ride in comfort from gas stop to gas stop. It took awhile, but I finally got the combination my back side appreciated. I should also mention that I have floorboards and a backrest.

My wife and I both use the Walmart cushion on occasions. Inexpensive at about $20 and seem to last well. It also works about as well as any other I have tried.

I got the Airhawk "medium cruiser" size as I found the "R" series too wide for the Can-am seat. The "comfort" seat from Can-am is designed for more leg room for the driver not really any better comfort as far as cushion goes.
