• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Scams...Scams...and More Scams!!!

I am in the market for a used Spyder. What I thought would be a breeze of online searching has turned into a huge headache. I am discovering on most of the online sale sites, people are listing the same Spyders with the same description from different areas. They are not legit sellers seeking to scam people out of their money. Does anyone know of LEGIT sites I can search for used Spyders with LEGIT sellers I can contact and eventually have a productive buy? HELP!!! :-( Any useful tips will be helpful. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

These folks are legitimate. They have several locations through out the U.S.
Attached is a link for all used Spyders all locations are included.

Also on the opposite side of this

I have had numerous people contacting me to buy my Spyder only to figure out early on that it is a scam. One was claiming to be in the military but could not call me because he was on base and was not allowed for security reasons. Okay but you can look at craigslist and contact me through there? I called him out for what he was and never heard back from him. Told him if he wanted it to show up at my door with cash in hand.

There is no way in h*** that I would buy a USED Spyder off eBay. It's too risky without seeing it and driving it. To each their own but not me. Craigslist is tricky! Once you learn how to weed out the scammers it's not that bad. I have gotten some of my best deals off Craigslist.

Good luck!!!

When J Toro was looking far a new to him Spyder, and found one on EBay, he asked me to have a look at the ad and photos. While it is always possible to get junk, he purchased a used 2015 RT Limited from a motorcycle shop where it had been traded in. The bike still had years of warranty remaining from BRP and some farkles were obvious, some were unknown until the bike arrived at J Toros house.

Maybe not in every case, but EBay is worth having a look.

J Toro got a very nice machine, loaded with extras, low miles, and remaining warranty, shipped to his house for thousands less than anything listed here on Spyderlovers.

You do not need to read much to learn Ride Now gets some of the lowest marks when it comes to being a Spyder dealer. Ours was purchased from a Ride Now dealership, one of the worst purchasing experiences I ever endured.

Was the problems with the dealership or the Spyder?
I got mine from Ride Now.
Great bike, Great price...Dealer ....Meh.... But the price made up for it..

100% horrible dealer.

When I worked in a dealership, if I treated customers the way we were treated, I would have been fired.

Do a quick search, most Ride Nows will support you after the sale with bad service that is overpriced in an effort to ensure you get the full treatment.

Did your bike give you any problems?

mutiple listing

I know this feeling , had spotted a 2014 r-t touring , low miles limited edtion , for 4500 dollars , texted , got a reply , texted a few more times , then it fell apart , { send me money , and amazon will deliver the spyder in a crate , too your address , and if you do not like it return it for full refund } :banghead: then I got suspect as too the ad , and sure enough listed three different sale listings , three states , 3 different phone numbers , same cycle ! so you have too keep on your toes with the internet , ---- but idid eventually buy my spyder through a craigslist post and drove about 40 miles too look at it first ! it will happen for you just have faith , and wait for the go time ...

I won't be having any service work done at any Ride Now dealership.
The price was 4k cheaper than anything near me. I'm still$3500 ($500 for shipping) to the good, with a platinum dealership in my home town.
Original post was about finding REAL Spyders for sale, not service work.

craigslist

Try ebay I have purchased 2 can ams and it's guaranteed it's not a scam if you're using Craigslist you looking for trouble

bought both my Spyders from Craigslist and for a GOOD price, no scamming, no B.S. and they were local.. trouble.nah.. not if you just use your brain..

I bought mine on EBay, from a dealer and paid for it with PayPal. EBay motors has protection and so does PayPal. I would do it again. Those of you that do CL just plain scare the H out of me, but that is just me.

I can see how it could be a way to buy one relatively close and then go there to buy or to see it but not over a certain distance. Why do you think that some towns and cities have spots in police parking lots to do the transaction, BECAUSE CL IS DANGEROUS!

So is eBay. Back in 2006 I sent a question to a seller of a Goldwing on eBay. Got no answer but he used the info to hack my eBay account. Had to call eBay to gain access back to it. Good thing my PayPal password was not the same. I would trust CL a lot more for vehicle purchase than I would eBay.

Let's face it: no matter who you're willing to trust; there's always gonna be someone lurking, who is willing to break that trust... nojoke

You end up doing the best that you can with the available information, and keep your fingers crossed.
