• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I did this upgrade a while back, and all I can say is that it is raising havoc with our communicators. The sensitivity is very low to your voice. I miss the first 4 words spoken by my wife,which leads to some confusion..her first words are usually" HEY, YOU IDIOT,*%^$#@!!:roflblack:.
Last night, my unit quit transmitting my voice completly. I could hear her,but she could not hear me. I turned mine off and back on and it worked for a few minutes, then quit again.

My phone s bluetooth only works "when it wants to" now, also.

I m posting this to see if anyone else is having the same or similar issues before I go thru the trouble of trying to "un-upgrade"(reinstall the older, original version of the software)

I am having the same trouble after upgrading to 3.0 ....Thinking of doing the same just haven't had the time. Please post results if you decide to degrade. Thanks :shocked:
 
Brad, Ijust checked mine and found one headset was version 3.0 and the other was version 3.017. I reset both to version 2.2 didn't have too reset bluetooth stayed connected. will test out tomorrow...Ride Safe.......

I bought the Scala G4 set to communicate bike-to-bike with my wife in February this year. At the tail end of a recent trip my wife's unit stopped working and would not hold a charge more than ten minutes before crapping out.

I called Cardo and they gave me a return authorization to send the unit back for repair or replacement. I did that this weekend.

I can't find the version number for the software anywhere on the unit or in the owners/instruction manual and since I run a Mac I can't check it out on line as their site is not Mac compatible.

Since I bought it this year, I would guess it is version 3.0 or newer. Is there any other way to check?

Praytell..how does one accomplish the reset to v. 2.2? Does it give you that option when you try to install the newer one?

I found the oldest version of the software on my old laptop from the very first upgrade. I ll install that on our units and letcha'll know if it helps.

I tried "install older version" three times on each unit and have no idea if it actually did install an older version, or just reinstalled the newest software.

Contact Cardo...they are very receptive to complaints...they will fix this if they can reproduce the problem. Being they have a lot of units out there, it's unlikely yours is the only one, unless your upgrade got corrupted...I think a few others complained too, so, let them know and see how fast they can fix this for you...
 
Mine has worked perfect for over a year... I feel no need to upgrade to 3.0.

The old saying..."If it isn't broke, don't fix it", once again rings true.

I'll probably move to the earbud Sena by time I'm ready to replace my Scala.

I tried this several times with no success. It just reloads the 3.0 version. At 3.0 it says I am up to date. I have not seen version 3017. My G4 is pretty much worthless right now. I am hoping my Spyder friends lead me out of the wilderness.;)
 
:popcorn: Interesting post. I have Cardo 2's. The original version. When the 4's came out--as usual--I had to have the latest. I loved the thought that they would transmit up to a mile. I could never get the 4's to work and ended up returning them for a refund.

Still using the 2's.

Sounds like the 4's may still need some work. Thinking of upgrading my Nolan's to the Nolan bluetooth system--because I like the fact that they are built into the helmets--no box hanging off the bottom of the helmet.

Sorry everyone. Need to correct myself. I just connected G4 to the computer and turned it on and it says G4 software Version 2.2 PC Software Version 3.0.17...... sorry for the bad info i posted! Stan
 
We've been using the G4's for a year now. I recently had to get one unit replaced which they did under warranty. When I received the new unit I uploaded the new software into them both and have had trouble ever since. Our communication is hit or miss and sometimes just one way. Sometimes the unit turns on my ipod that is in my iphone and sometimes it makes phone calls for me usually randomly from my contact list. If the software isn't straightened out soon I'll sell them and move to something else.:gaah:

Well, mine quit working..period. I called them this morning in a semi-panic (since we are leaving for MI on June 1) and they are shipping out a replacement today, no need to wait till they receive the dead one before shipping the new one. I m quite impressed!
