• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Scala Rider Q2 from Cardo

Just installed the new Scala Rider Q2 from Cardo - great system: rider to passenger, rider to other bikes, GPS, Cell Phone, Built in FM radio, super system for the money. Took just 30 minutes to install and pair up a set.

With my Razor Phone linked to it, I can either say the phone number or say the name of the person I have in my phone and it dials out hands free.

Nice addition for the Spyder - no radio speakers flopping around!

The wife and I bought a pair of them last weekend when I bought my spyder. They've performed perfectly, made another ride down to Ft. Myers this weekend cause I needed my first service and we chatted the whole way. We've gotten some pretty good distance between our bikes and have had no problems. Received a couple phone calls and have been able to talk and hear perfectly at 70 mph.

On a side note, since you can't pair an mp3 player with the system I bought an fm transmitter to plug into my Ipod and use that to pipe my tunes through the radio. Works pretty good.

Sleepman did you find the audio level of phone calls a bit low? Radio seems fine but the phone call audio level could be a bit higher.

How far are the speakers from your ears in your helmet?

Thanks

Initially I had the Scala in my Zox helmet and at higher speeds it was harder to hear both the phone and fm radio. I was getting a lot of wind noise in side the helmet. I got a new Shoei RF-1000 helmet and moved the scala to that one. Since I did that I've had no problems with volume on the phone or radio. As a matter of fact it's loud enough that I've found myself turning the volume done. I can't say how close the speakers are to my ears but it's a snug helmet.

For the most part, the FM radio is almost worthless on our headsets since when we get the volume right for the FM, I can't hear the intercom volume.

I ended up leaving the FM off (too bad)
