• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RTS digital display went black about 25 miles

Has anyone else had this happen? Riding to various places yesterday in 95 degree, and temp gauge showed RTS as fine. We made lots of stops to cool ourselves down. After about a 45 minute stop, went to start up & RTS digital display was black - hitting MODE didn't make it come back on. Bike started without the display, and all else was working ie turn signals, fuel, speedo, etc. and we rode on home. It suddenly came back to life. Once home we turned bike off & on and it's back. Any thoughts?

Possible cause...

LCDs have a definite operating range and if you were parked in the sun, you may have exceeded that temperature in the display housing. "Should" start to work as soon as the display cools down a bit...

Also, typical high-temp reaction of an LCD panel is to turn black...

Hope that's it...

I would always pull out the safety card on my Spyder [08GS] when i parked in the direct sun and let it hang down like a sun shade.

Could be a heat or sun-related issue, a loose connector or wire, or a bad cluster. If it continues, I'd see your dealer.
