• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Windscreen wiper

This is a DOUBLE FARKLE, used a windscreen wiper motor kit bought on ebay for less than $50, it's the same motor kit thats advertised on a specialist bike wiper website, look on Ebay, Boat Custom Car windscreen wiper and you'll find lots of them cheap.

As well as wiping the windscreen that it does well and at the moment not showing any signs of scratching it.

As I live in France, when I go to the bakery to buy my baguette, it's too long to fit any of the luggage boxes so I place it on top of the dashboard and lower the screen until the bottom of the wiper motor clamps the baguette and stops it sliding off when I go round a corner, sorry, can't show picture with baguette in place, I ate it for lunch.

WELLLLLLL NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT

I'm a diehard DIY'er ....... and the windshield wiper thing is or was available commercially ....... But as far as long-term use ...... I think you are going to discover that, wiper BLADES and plastic don't mix ...... I use the NEW "rain-ex " Plastic formula and that works great ............... good luck ...... Mike

Wiper kit

If I remember correctly, Cruzr Joe was close to bringing a windshield wiper kit to market a few years ago...(I'm really good at remembering way back but 5 minutes ago are blank) :banghead:

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:, Foggy memory, it was a joke, It was a wiping cloth for the windshield and i promoted it as a prank for Spyderfest. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: But thanks for reliving the fun memory.

I think you could get an OEM wiper from Japan. From what I've seen before on a Goldwing site wipers on motorcycles are required over there.

I tried this setup on my first GoldWing and promptly destroyed the windshield, any dirt that is on it will be used as sandpaper
on the windshield.

Nicely done...

A windshield wiper and bread holder in one... let us know down the road how well the windshield holds up. Mine works well...turn my head to the left pause then to the right pause and all the water is off my Faceshield....:roflblack:

While I admire your ingenuity, especially using it to hold your baguette, I've never seen the need for a windshield wiper on my Spyder. Even if it is raining I prefer to look over the top of it.

If it is really hot out and you want to keep your baguette warm you should put it in the glove box!:roflblack:

I wonder how an F4 windshield would hold up. Their show demo unit has a windshield wiper running on it with steel wool wrapped around it. The one half that is the F4 material stays clear and smooth. The other half would work for a rest room privacy window!

Concur. Unless you switch to an F4 windshield, it will be ruined quickly. I also don't advocate storing anything on the dash where it could fall off and hit/distract you. Epic fail😢

Cruzr Joe

That's right...
Joe has hired (At a GREAT personal cost...) all of the homeless men in every city in the Nation. Their jobs are to "sniff-out" filthy windscreens, and clean them for the grateful motorists.
Watch for them: they are located at EVERY intersection, of every city street! :2thumbs:

And don't forget to Thank Joe, when you see him!

BLUEKNIGHT911,
Obviously you didn't read or understand my hint fully,I am bypassing your posts. I think you have a lot to contribute but your bold print turns people off, at least me....I was always taught to believe capitols were meant you were either angry, or shouting....so with you ....what is it? Trying to help you out as I said previously you may have comments that we want to hear but not in your format. Oh...and Stellingman, my eyes are probably as old as yours but I still find it obnoxious!
safe riding!

TB 645, there is a difference between upper case letters ( ie Capitals ) and lower case letters ...... I know the difference, but you don't. This is capitals - CCCCC , this not ccccccc .....now maybe you can tell the difference. I like to use #3 type, most here use #2 ....... If you think we all should be using a certain size type..... please contact the Administrator and complain to Him / Her that you have decided there should be NO choice in the matter................ your welcome ....... M :banghead:
