• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. RT Trailer light question

Now that I am semi-retiring this spring I plan a trip from WV to CO via MN this summer. I have an 2011 RT and I have the trailer. When I bought the trailer from the dealer they said that all the light functions could not be hooked up which seems wrong to me. Unfortunately I did not have time to investigate due to work. Does this sound correct on the lights? Now that the snow is gone I will connect up the trailer in a few days to be more specific about which lights work and don't. I was not able to find any threads on this so any help would be appreciated.

As a side note I have ordered the Corbin seat and am debating the GPS options so any advice in these areas would be useful. I am a bit leery about the Garmin 660 as my Garmin in my truck is missing basic roads so I am considering just hooking up my cell phone with the WAZE app.

Thanks,

Good Morning !:coffee:

I have the RT 622 trailer 2010 year . Your dealer is correct about the trailer lights. I think originally the turn signals were suppose to work separately but because of issues they don't.
So there are spare lights that don't do anything. You will find the wires cut if you were to dig deeper.

I have a garmin ZUMO 660 and like it. I have lifetime map updates so my Garmin gets updated .

There are other people on this forum with a lot more technical knowledge than your truly I hope they chime in about RT 622 trailer issues.

I hope this is a good start.

:welcome: Marker is correct, the yellow turn signal lights do not function on 2011 and newer trailers. Have a great trip.

Thanks, at least I don't that is not a problem to solve. On the GPS is that something that takes a dealer to install?

The 2010 trailers used the separate turn signals, but they were dropped for 2011 after numerous trailer module failures. The failures may not have been related to that function, but reliability did improve after adopting the 4-wire system. All RT-622s since have the same assembly, but only 4-wire harnesses and the separate turn signal locations had no sockets. The backup light locations on the assemblies were not functional or fitted for lights on any of the trailers. The 4-wire versions have all functions working, but the turn signals are combined with the brake lights.

If your technical skills are moderate and are confident in removing the right side Tupperware, it is really not that hard...
