• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S Info

I'm baaaack.
Some may remember that about a year ago I bought a Spyder Phantom only to get it totalled out 4 days later. I didn't buy another Spyder to replace it, but I am considering one now.

I've pretty much decided on the RT-S, I tend to like lots of toys. My first concern is a lack of power with the additional weight & wind resistance. The second is adding a satellite radio, I have a couple of Sirius Sportster 5's and the remains of a RAM mount from my old GoldWing, but I am concerned about the power and audio outlets being in the trunkHow difficult is running wires from the handlebars back to the trunk (and keeping them hidden)? ? Is there a RAM handlebar mount to fit the RT-S?
Lastly, what kind of real world price can I expect to negotiate on one?

TIA

Plenty of power, although the range is pretty poor. You can run wires from the handlebar all the way to the back, but it's no cakewalk. There is plastic fascia on the underside of the handlebar that is removable and you can run wires from there down the center of the bars. You'll need to take off at least 3 body panels and probably the seat to get them all the way to the back, as well as drill a hole into the rear trunk for access.
It's definitely doable, I've done it.

Additional power can be made available as in this post.

When you take the lower side panel off, you may find that the upper two slots for the body screws become deformed. The plastic either wears or breaks so the holes enlarge. I recently glued steel washers to the backs of these panels to compensate for the lost plastic.

As to price.................hehehehehehehehhehe

The supply of RT-S units has dried up. You will be lucky if you don't pay a premium. If you can find one at less than MSRP, snap it up.

Of course, I'm not too proud to accept cash.....................................
