Anyone Added a large (7") Carplay Display screen to a Spyder RT?

I went with the 5" display thinking that the 7" would be wee bit larger than needed. The 5" fits well on the ball mount right center in front and powered through the center usb connection.

just came back from my first test run with the Carpuride ACP. the ball mount attached to existing mount on bike and plugged into the bike's usb connection. BT my phone to the device. I BT the device to bike as a helmet audio. Used the map app to a fueling station and audio came through bike speakers. I was listening to XM while exercising this am up town on ear buds. when came out turned off earbuds and started bike which then sent audio through bike speakers. the ACP is better than my Garmin which I have used for years. Paid $181.00 direct from factory. feel this is a good setup. Yes easy to use and readily easy to see during daylight. Time will tell if it is better than before.

Glad you liked it and it was apparenlty easy to setup. I may just have to do this for my 2024 S2S that still doesn't have ACP or AA ..lol

After looking at Amazon and measuring on the bike, I am thinking I would want the 7" screenmounted on a longer 4" RAM clamp mount on a RAM ball stud on the left hand upper most handlebar bolt. Just need the longer Ram clamp mount. That way I can move the Carpuride over to the left to be out of the line of sight of the cluster. I would use the mini glove box USB to provide power....

As we get older, having bigger screens helps with tired old eyes. Just sayin' ;)

So a question for all those with the Carpuride units - can you operate it with touchscreen enabled gloves? Was that easy or kinda not so much?

BTW, Amazon lists this W702 7" Carpuride unit as $249 plus $40 discount plus another $25 discount. With tax and shipping, $196 - YMMV

Jester72, How to you have the carpuride audio setup on your bike to have map directions come through the bike speakers? Is the bike radio control set at bluetooth radio output or do you have it set on auxiliary output? having issues with mine.

Update on my Carpuride. It has the 7" screen, and it does not fit between the bars. I thought for sure it did, but nope. I still like where it is, though.

I have the 5" Carpuride ACP unit assembled and working. It is attached to the handlebars on the right side of the center attachment with a ball mount and hardwired to the frunk accessory harness. My iPhone is paired to both the bike and the device. For Google Maps, the device runs through a Bluetooth interconnect that is plugged into the connections in the front dash compartment to deliver instructions through the speakers of the bike. If I want to listen to XM radio through my iPhone, I set the audio output of the bike to BT radio and the sound comes through the bike's speakers. ACP has now replaced my Garmin. This may not be the best connections, but it works for me.

I ride a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-S.

I have been using a ram-mounted Garmin GPS to plan our routes for our summer vacation rides. The GPS is old, and even with all updates installed it is not accurate, compared to Google maps or Waze, as I found out on my last trip.
I have been looking at Carplay-capable display screens and thinking of adding one to the bike using the existing Ram mount. Has anyone added a display or iPad or something similar for navigation? I am thinking of linking from my phone to the display so I can use Google maps, Apple maps, or Waze at my discretion. Also, I am looking at the 7" screen, not the 5" - more for ease of viewing than anything else. Thanks!

I use this: very pleased. And there is a firmware upgrade to monitor 3-tires

What handlebars are those? Heli-Bars?

Who are you asking?? :dontknow:

If it's Quickdraw &/or Troop, from their pics in posts #16 & 17, then Yes, they are Heli bars - Hellishly expensive but adjustable in pretty much every way!

A problem I have with my iPhone is that in hot climes, it gets too hot and cannot be used. This comes from direct sunlight and high ambient temps. How do these work in those conditions?

I had problems with my iPhone while traveling in the southwest, Florida, and pretty much all across the South.

Works like ACP in a vehicle, as long as iPhone is nearby. Does not like to be exposed.

I have the Carpuride W702 on my 2022 RTL Bluetooth connected to a dongle that is plugged into the USB connection in the glove box, and then I have my phone Bluetooth connected to the Carpuride. Everything is working great, I have to select the Aux setting to hear my music on the bikes speakers which is not a problem.

I am getting ready to do a cross country ride in August and want to incorporate my Sena helmet communication into the system. What is the best means to connect the Sena units so that I can hear everything in my helmet and if I want to I can listen thru the bikes speakers?

I have a Sena 3S Plus in my helmet, and a Garmin Zumo XT GPS mounted on the handlebars.
My phone is plugged into the USB port in the top case on my Spyder S2S.

Both the phone and headset are paired to the GPS so that I can hear the directions through my headset.

Nothing is paired to the Spyder, and I've only once used the speakers with the radio, and not while riding.

I have the Carpuride W702 installed on a 2023 Spyder RT, so far, I am loving it. I did use the BRP app for about a month, but I prefer to use Waze or Google Maps, hence the purchase. To install it, I ordered the Bar Clamp with 1” ball from Lamonster Garage (link below for visual reference). And I am powering it via the USB port in the “glove box” which I have had no issues with. But I also do not have any other accessories or power draws on the electrical system, so your mileage may vary on this.

My setup has my iPhone connected to the Carpuride unit as well as my Cardo unit on the helmet. I can control maps, and music from the Carpuride screen. Because it is Apple Car Play, only certain applications will show up on the Carpuride screen (you probably know this but throwing it out there just in case). Also, I have not tried adding the handlebar controls into the mix yet, so I’m not sure if that will work. I have seen a post on Facebook where someone said they were able to.

Hi Schecknas. How well does Carpuride work in the sun? Do you get much glare in bright sun? My Gamin XT works very well in the bright sun, but I am thinking about trying out the Carpuride because of its size.

I was using a Garmin XT with my 2024 RT S2S, but with the Apple Carplay update, I've been using the Maps app on my iPhone to display the maps on the Spyder's display.

How do you folks feel about the possibility of the Carpuride being stolen? There is no quick release like on the Garmin.

I use a Spedal NaviCam CL876 Motorcycle CarPlay with front and rear cameras, 6.86 Inch.
Connection at unit is kind of bulky, but so far it works fine.
My main reason was I wanted a front and rear camera. This has the added CarPlay feature.

If you use the mount that comes with the carpuride it uses a special nut/wrench to tighten and loosen it. That's on the arm part. On the handlebar mount it uses a standard nut, but it is a lock nut. I carry the special wrench in my glove box so if leaving the bike for an extended period I can take the carpuride off and with me.
