• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Rear Trunk looks likely to wear where I press to close - is there anything to stop that?

After getting in and out of my trunk a few times, it looks like over time that I could wear the finish where I have to press down to lock the lid? Would there be anything available that I could attach to the top of that lid just above the lock?

I was concerned about that on mine as well as the side panels where my legs rub. I had those areas covered with clear paint protection film. I initially was just going to put a small piece on the frunk cover where your finger would push but the guy doing it wouldn't do just a small area, said it would look odd. He was right, in the end, I'm glad I listened to him.

A quick google search found several companies that advertise paint protection film/wraps for CAN-AM vehicles.

I did not see any that were specific to the top case but it's worth asking.

And you can buy clear paint protection film at some auto parts stores. Cut it to shape and then apply it.
I'd recommend a window tint installation kit, which includes a bottle of application solution, and several plastic squeezes to smooth out the film and smooth out the bubbles. They usually also include some film cutters to trim the film.

I used a tint install kit when I applied some tint on the glass trim around the font door of my house, and reused the kit when I applied the Celtic Spyder emblem to my frunk lid.

Got ballistic nylon soft bag strapped on the pax seat, so that can't get scratched up too bad. On the side where my knees rubbed on the side panels, I found a set of peel and stick, thick, embossed, rubber knee pads on the web that belong on some other brand, don't remember what it was. I checked the dimensions and they fit just perfect where my knees contact the side panels. Order a set, cleaned the side panels up real good, and stuck them on. They been on there about 5 years now.

Really don't remember what they belong on. Seems like it was a Honda or a Suzuki cruiser tank. Got a pattern of raised rubber bumps on the knee pads. They make it easier to lock you knees to the side panels to help balance through the curves.

If I had to bitch about one thing I don't like about my new S2S it would be the skins on it. I don't know how or what they are making them with, but it is soft as all get out! I got some Tuff Skins protectors for the area on top of the tank where your pants are rubbing when you get on and off and the top of the glove box so far! The back trunks showing wear, I have 3500 miles on it, keep it as clean as I can and wax it, what a mess!! If BRP reads this message I would like to tell them to smarten up for God's sake!!!

Thanks for the good suggestions, I thought this might be a common enough issue that somebody would address it with an accessory of some type instead of us having to get creative and come up with something ourselves. 🤷‍♂️

Might want to look through this when you got time. Most of these are peel and stick. Got one of the generic tank protectors on top of my tank to protect it from and wear from the tank bag.

Stick ons

My 2018 Goldwing has the same issue with soft paint, so it's not just Can Am.
I'm not a Harley fan at all, but their fit and finish is far superior. At least that's what I'm told by Harley guys😁

Never, ever, ever believe what any HD guy tells you about things they like about their bike. Deep down inside, they really wish they had Spyders! HAHA!

Difference is the Harleys have metal fenders and side covers. The covers and fenders on a Harley are called tins, metal parts with primer and automotive type paint. Spyders are covered with tupperware. You would hardly compare tupperware to a primed and painted tank or fender.

All I know is my 2012's panels didn't scratch like this 2025, so they have changed something in the making of the panels or paint!

After a year or so that won't bother you as much as the bug stains embedded into the paint on the front of your frunk lid and back of the mirrors. The water paint on these spyders is very soft! "honey bees R the worst"
