• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT passenger comfort

We just finished an 8100 mile cross US -Canada trip on our 2010 RT in weather up to 112 degree heat; one day of a snow storm and quite a bit of rain in upper peninsula of Michigan and Ontario. Bike[?] ran great, except for last day, TB issue ,which is now corrected, but there is a problem which I cannot find addressed anywhere. While I am quite comfortable at most times in any weather, there is alot of wind wraparound effect for my wife whose shoulders and neck area gets very wet/cold/dirty. We have a stock windshield and use Gerbings heated shirts with CanAm Spyder rain jackets-which works great for me but really isn't doing the job for Nancy.Has anyone experienced this and if so, how do you change the air pocket for the passenger? By the way, there is a great Spyder dealer in Medford Oregon-Water World-they are terrific and helpful.

Hi Charlie,
My Missus sympathizes with Nancy. The air pocket around the rider and passenger just needs to be about a foot "deeper" to get behind everything.
I changed my lower air deflecotors (below the mirrors) to bring the pocket in closer to the sides. I had hoped that by bending outward less, it might pass further rearward before slamming shut. Unfortunately there wasn't any big change.
Maybe some of the folks who have added Baker's side deflectors have had better success... :dontknow:
Maybe a shorter windshield... Lamont just changed his; maybe he can fill you in on the details...
Good Luck, and please let us all know what you find!

You might want to look into Baker Air Wings they're a site sponsor here. I have mixed feelings on the looks but there supposed to work wonders. I ordered a set on July the 4th but still waiting, last email I got a few days ago they hadn't even shipped them. Anyway, you can direct air both in and out of the spyder. You can direct more air towards your passenger in hot weather and create a larger air bubble around them in the cold and rain.

Other owners here have them already and speak highly of them. I plan to do a review when I get mine.

I put on a F4 windshield that is 5 inches wider then stock. My wife said it helped a lot. look at windshield in my mod link below.

The smaller windshield and the more angled lower deflectors from the 2011 and newer RTs reduce the backdraft. My 2011 is far better than my 2010 was. It is not eliminated, but it may be a solution. I'd try the deflectors first.
