• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Mirrors - Options?

I noticed something when I drove the RT Spyder before dropping my deposit - I am not a fan of the mirrors.
They seem to have a small field of view (which I saw there are convex stick on "fixes" for that), but they also seemed very low.
In the upright seating position of the RT - the mirrors are at (or below) elbow height; from a 2 wheel background; I am a bit more accustomed to shoulder height.

Are there any after market methods to raise the mirrors?
I understand - shut up and ride it for a while first until you figure out whether it is really a problem...

But it won't be here until March or April and until then - All I have to do is wait and wonder.

And if I hate the mirrors in their current configuration - I can 3d print up some mirror delete panels and then mount some stalked mirrors higher; but I was wondering if anyone had already taken this step?

Yes. Search on rt mirrors. Also, check these out https://saeng.com/product/quick-scans/

This is my solution https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?144335-A-dashboard-for-RT-accessories

You can buy Top Cuffs and Mirrors from LaMonster.

Or you can build your own - DIY.
Here is the Amazon mirror mount extension that I used.

I drilled and tapped 10MM mounting holes in my OEM top cuffs.
I have 2 different style mirrors I'm previewing for fit and function.

Cheers,

Give those "low" mirrors a chance. The "under-handlebar" mirrors are pretty much standard on (2-wheel) tupperwared sport bikes and sport-tourers. The mirrors on my old ST1100 are actually lower, relative to handlebar position, than the ones on my 2014 RT, and after about 2 weeks of getting used to it, I thought they were much better than the high mirrors on my Ascot VT500. Of course, that might have been due to the difference in vibration level from a V-twin to a much better balanced V4. :sour:
