• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. RT GAUGES GONE

Well, I finally got tired of the wildly inaccurate analog gas gauge, and figured that if I was going to disable it I would do the same with the temp gauge. To my surprise and annoyance, the gas gauge "remembered" what the fuel level was, and the needle stayed in that same position as before it was disabled. I kept looking at it and thinking, "I'm gonna have to get gas soon". Then I would remember that it was disabled, look at my mileage, and the bar graph on the center screen for the actual fuel level. So I decided to take them out. I went to a local boat dealer and had them order two 2" Euro Blanks (that's what the manufacturer calls them) made by Faria Marine Instruments. Took out the gauges, and put in the blanks with a small bead of black silicone around the bezel to keep water out. So here is the finished product at a cost of $35.00 and 20 minutes of labor. I like the way it looks. Now I have to retrain myself to look at the center screen, not at the - nonexistent - gauges.

Nicely done...

Did you consider adding other guages..voltmeter etc or charging ports..?? but for a clean look ...you nailed it...:2thumbs:

Analog guages

I have a 2015 RT base model. No analog guages. I could never figure out why BRP installs redundant analog guages when the digital guages are just inches away. But that's just me.

It was probably done to differentiate between the Base model, and the upgraded ones!
Back in 2010: my A&C model had the gauges, but with Black trim around them. The RT-S had the chrome bezels.

took mine out a long time ago, replaces the with a volt meter on the right, and a 12 volt outlet on the left

Ok, so help me out on the "wildly inaccurate" comment. Was it overestimating how much gas you had or underestimating?
And is it possible to show the digital gas gauge without disconnecting the analog?

Please excuse the dumb question: Where did you guys get the USB, voltmeter, or 12V outlet that fits in the analog holes? Do they come with the correct plates or did you improvise?

Thanks for the help.
Dave

When I disconnected mine, I filled it up first so at least the dead analog gas gauge is stuck on full. I put a Voltmeter in place of the temp gauge on the right. One of these days I'll yank that dead fuel gauge and replace it with something, like a clock that actually keeps time.

Pam,
Where did you mount it--replace an existing gauge or add another bracket?
Darrell

I took out the temp gauge, tapped into the existing positive and negative wires for the voltmeter and slid it into place. 52mm fits perfectly.

Prior to 2014 the RT analog gauges were worthless, they tended to bounce and they didn't give you a good idea of how much fuel you really had. The gas gauge on the 14 and newer are pretty darn accurate.

The gas gauge always showed less than I really had in the tank. And, as Pegasus1300 said, you have to disconnect both analog gauges to get the fuel and temperature bar graphs to show up on the center screen.

:agree: In fact, it's actually the most accurate fuel gauge that I've had in ANY vehicle. nojoke
