• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RSS Ergo Help Please!

dsthanks everyone! This is a really cool place- I appreciate everyone's time and input.:thumbup::thumbup:

So, here's my current plan... I ordered BRP peg extensions - and a friend ( a master sport bike seat maker) is carving me up a new seat. The wife test drove the Spyder last weekend , and I think she's in .

Im digging the rig. It looks, handles, and sound great (two brothers). Surprising me how much I like it!

Wow! What an incredible set of responses! Thanks every.:thumbup::thumbup:

Will ST footpegs/footboards fit a RS?

Will ST seats fit a RS?

The RS, RT and ST are all VERY different rides. Aftermarket products generally are not interchangeable. Seal Floorboards are designed to fit ONLY the model they are paid for. Trying to modify apples into oranges will probably only lead to a bad taste in your mouth. I designed my Floorboards to fit exactly and easily. The whole point of them is to......Ride in comfort.

Can the Sealboards be set lower on the RS?

No, they are the exact same height as the foot pegs. On my first Spyder, a 2009, I raised the handle bars up 5" and back 2". I added a taller windshield and invented the Seal Floorboard. You can see how I sat if you go to my sealcreativeconcepts.com website. Click on the "about" page. It's the Yellow and black one. BTW, the Floorboards show are the first version and didn't have the black vinyl diamond plate cover or the chrome trim you see in the DLX models of today.

congrats! as far as foot comfort, go to one of the sites sponsors, web-boards and contact bill bodah. he's the man!! I have had his floorboards on my rss and now the f3s. as for a seat option, the wife and I loved the ultimate seat. she put on over 19,000 miles on the rss (as a passenger) and loved every minute of it.

Hi all - We're new Spyder owners, just took possession of our 2014 RS-SM5 and are hoping for some input from you experts!

Our machine is mostly stock with the exception of a Two Brothers exhaust and we'd like to change the ergos for more long distance comfort for the pillion.

What we'd like to do is lower the rear footpegs and change (broaden) the pillion seat.

Is it possible to swap on the rear floorboards from a RT?
Is it possible to swap on the front floorboards/controls from a RT?
Any input on the differences between the "Comfort" seat and a Russell Day-Long?

We're looking forward to getting to know you all better!

Might want to google inspector gadget lives in Florida and has some floor boards for the RS, as well as the other mentioned sponsors on the site which have been mentioned by others.

:congrats::welcome:
People say Motorcycle Dave can work magic with stock seats, and he's a site sponsor. Give him a PM and ask.
:agree: And SMOOTHSPYDER backrest is awesome farkle:firstplace: for the comfort addition, long or short trips. See you already have the BRP passenger backrest, so your 1/2 way there if you want the topcase.

Again - thanks everyone for the input!

I added peg extenders and they helped some. We've now got about 800 miles on the Spyder... and, I hate to say it but we're just not making the adjustment to the Spyder very well.

We live on the Front Range in Colorado, and the Spyder is no where near as much fun in the canyons as our motorcycles, especially two-up. I get the joke about leaning into the corner, being smooth, light touch on the bars, etc - but, we're really struggling to ride it at anywhere near normal (motorcycle) speeds. To summarize, our comfort and confidence begins to diminish in the canyons once we get slightly above posted/suggested speeds... :banghead:

I put some Rivco running boards on a friends RS he likes them but the whole reason to buy an RS vs RT is the sportier ride isnt it? Isci makes risers might help u

It took me at least that many miles to get over the lane wandering. Your speed through the turns will increase as you go and have more miles under your belt. Lean into the hand that is to the inside of the corner, lock the elbow on the outside as you come near the apex, nail the throttle. Enjoy:yes::yes:

I hear you and appreciate your input and encouragement... but, we're going to go back to two wheels for awhile.

Anyone want to buy a real nice 2014 RS-SM5 with nice upgrades and low miles? $12k rolls it down the driveway!:thumbup::thumbup:
