Oh really ???? I put Baja Plugs and wires on and have not noticed any difference. :dontknow: Maybe the reason is, I am missing a rear wheel and have not been able to try them out yet. :gaah::(:gaah:This weather has been awesome and I think I made a mistake of tearing my Spyder down to early this winter, but who would have known it was almost 45 here yesterday. I so would have taken a ride. :(

I'm glad you noticed a difference, and I'm hoping for the same result.

I think the short wire could have been a inch or so longer. While it does fit I found it a little tight. As far as performance, I haven't noticed much difference yet and really don't expect any from past experience but that may change a little as nanny adjusts a little over 6 or so runs. I bought them with the plugs for peace of mind.

I'm sorry that one of your wires was too short. If you would care to give me a measurement on that wire I will send you another one that is longer.

Length of the wires for me were great...just enough, not a lot of excess to hang around...Took a little effort to wrestle one wire in place but it was explained beforehand in the instruction letter Ron sent along with the package. We had Len install the same package on the purple spyder we bought for Cindi. Ahhh...before I forget...thanks Len for arranging the transportation on Cindi's spyder up to us here...sure saved me a lot of time and I can't complain about the cost...I can attest that your customer service is everything people have previously expressed.

Glad you like the wire set. They really are a needed upgrade.

Both wires should be the correct length. I've made them a bit longer than stock because the spark plug boot is longer and sticks up out of the cylinder head further than the stock set. With the 'Too Short' wire it may have been a routing problem.

I've been getting very good reviews about these wires. Some have said they were a bit leery because of the low price, fearing they might not live up to my statements since they cost less than the OEM wires. I am thinking of raising the price to make people feel better about their purchase! It would make me feel better too! Sounds like a Win-Win to me! :ohyea:

Where would one begin to know how to go about changing these wires and plugs ???

Sorry about just getting back on this, just wanted to give it several runs and I believe it is a little peppier but again that's not why I replaced the wires and plugs. As far as the one were being short, that's not the case as it fits but I just suggested an inch or two more for the short one as it is a close fit.

You are going to get a better spark at the plug with these custom wires but whether or not this will be noticable depends on how bad your previous wires/plugs were.

The real advantage in this ingition combo is that when the OEM wires/plugs would need replacement this custom set will still be performing like new.

As for the 'Short', short wire, if you ever get the inkling, I would very much like a measurement from boot to boot (just the wire). That way you don't have to remove the spark plug wire. That will tell me if you have a wire shorter than it should be.

I am going to have to agree with this. I have put nearly 100 miles on since I changed the plugs and wires. I will swear my Spyder is running with alot more pep in her step. I think Baja is suggesting that these wires will not make a difference in performance but I have to disagree. My Spyder is kickin azz right now. No :cus: :joke:. I love these new wires.

I'm supposed to be getting mine back soon... and I'm also hoping for the same results as what you guys are reporting!

Have had the Ign Wires and New Sparks Plug fitted

A friend of mine helped me - The shorter wire was easy as the Cyclinder was closest
The far cyclinder was more difficult and we did consider having to remove the Airbox to get access - Could not see where the lgn wire
went as mine was threaded between the Cyclinders and back into the cyclinder head
I kept moving the lead and we could see it above the cyclinder and realised it could be done from the same side - a little tight but with
the correct Plug socket and small extensions it was removed and the new plug and lead installed

Getting the old wire out was difficult although it was not zipped tied the protective sleeving kept jamming against the 2 cyclinders
We cut some of this sleeving off and managed to get the old ign wire out

With the new lead it goes from the Coil direct to the far cyclinder - It is zipped tied away from the cyclinder head and because of this
it will be easier next time to get the boot off and replace the Spark Plugs on both cyclinders

I covered both the leads with new protective sleeving and colour coded them (3 small red zip ties) so a mech would know these are the Ignition Leads

So far the results have been impressive - Pick up seems to be better and the Spyder feels more responsive

I got my set and anticipated putting them in in order to get peace of mind.

It turns out, that one of my OEM plug wires had a bulge in it and was on the brink of failure.

Peace of mind is worth a pretty penny.

SOO if someone was looking at getting plugs where would one go ? ;P since Everyone is loving these wires so far...

BajaRon...How much are the wires and plugs?

BajaRon site sponsor on the home page . Not sure if he has the wires listed yet ,but if you PM him he is pretty good at getting back to you .He sells everything, oil kits, helmets, riding gear, plugs and plug wires.

If you can't get ahold of him he is probably over at Lamonts getting something wrenched on his RS.:roflblack: :roflblack:

I miss the Az. Weather

The cactus flower is beautiful wish I was out there to see it. Was out there last winter around Scottsdale area at my uncles place. Rode around for 2,000 miles in that area on my Blue RT but had to come back to reality. Hope your new plug wires work out good for you. I now have 19,000 miles on the RT and still running great. Changed the plugs at 12,000 and really did not need to, so may wait till it misses before changeing again.

You can PM me or email me at [email protected]. Payment can be made with Paypal or by mail. To see the items I carry for the Spyder you can go to the 'Home Page' and click on my banner ad. I also carry riding gear like helmets, apparal, rain gear, etc., that I do not have listed yet.

I have the Custom, High Performance Wire Sets in 2 different versions. The MSD version (Red) $65.00, and the Accel version (Black) $72.00. NGK Iridium spark plugs are $17.00 a set. I highly recommend using Iridium Spark Plugs with my wire sets. These sets include Dielectric Grease (for the spark plug boot) and Thermal Paste (if you get Spark Plugs). Prices include shipping to the 48 US states. I will ship anywhere in the world.

I am very happy to hear that these wires are working well for you.

I found it easier to remove the top of the air box and take the lower portion loose (you don't have to remove it). But there is more than one way to get this job done. The real advantage here is that you shouldn't have to do this again for a LONG time!

BajaRon...How much are the wires and plugs?

Pricing is listed above. The Accel wire set is more because the Accel 300+ Race Wire costs me more than the MSD wire. MSD wire with Iridium Spark Plugs delivered is $82.00, Accel wire set with Iridium Spark Plugs are $89.00 delivered.
