• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Interested in Risers

I would like to pre-order both a 4" and 3" riser. I just want to make sure that they can use existing cable config. Please let me know. Thanks

Welcome to SpyderLovers Spydergirlva. Both Magic Man and Lamonster have posted installation guides, instructions, notes, etc. and they both stated that existing cable works. Here is lamonsters thread.

welcome

MM team has an SE on order so they can check the fit. I looked hard at them when I was in Sturgis and I think they will work fine but there may need to be a mod to the left side for the SE. Won't know forsure till they get one in hand.

Does anyone have any better quality pictures of nomagicneons 3" risers that the low res ones on his website or frontpage here? Also will the 4" risers work if you have the brp 1" riser? I am looking for the best solution.

I believe that lamonster stated that the 4 " risers are made for Spyders without BRPs 1" riser. Those with the BRP riser need to get the 3" NMN riser.

Is there an issue with the 4" Risers on SE5 ?

Is there an issue with the 4" Risers on SE5 ? I ordered mine over a month ago and haven't seen or heard anything from them. I keep expecting them to show up .... but nothing so far.

Have read all the postings on the risers and how much everyone likes them. I have the original windscreen on my Spyder which gives me quite a lot of wind on my chest. At road speed that provides just about the right amount of lift to my body so that the pressure on my arms and wrists is minimal. A "straight up" sitting position hurts my lower back on longer rides, and I am hesitant about having risers. Still, there are all these great reports and I wonder if I am missing out on something that I would really love ????????????

Decisions, decisions, ..........

Jack,

Most people like myself say the too bent over position tends to hurt our backs after awhile, not the other way around. :dontknow:

So if you can't sit more upright without your back hurting than I would have to say you are the exception not the rule in this area? If your back needs to be more bent over to be comfortable than this may not be the mod for you, as it will sit you more upright for sure. :(

However, everyone so far seems to not only love the seating position, but the extra control this design seems to afford them as well.

The only thing to do would be to install a set and go for a ride before you cut off the old excess bar stock and see if they work for you? That way if not all you would have to do is transfer the controls back to the stock bar.
