I decided to try a little experiment with the heat that comes off the right side when I have my feet on the highway pegs. I can deal with it most of the time and in cold weather it's kind of nice but now that we are seeing 80 plus around here it's a little too hot sometimes so here's what I did.
First I cut a piece of cardboard to test fit my air dam. After I had that where I liked it I needed to find something to put in there. I couldn't find anything in the shop but I did find something that worked great.
Hope my wife doesn't need to make any cookies soon. :roflblack:
This is the test fit
Now painted
The temp when the fan came on was 86 degrees. It's hard to tell from this pic
It got up to 106 degrees max
The heat below the air dam was 124 so that's a little better. I do have my bottom splash pan off so that give the heat another place to go. I'll run with this for a while and see how it acts. If I don't like it it's just one screw to remove it so I'm not out anything other than a cookie sheet.
By the way I added some industrial strength velcro to the top of my side panels and I can tell you these things are never going to fly off going down the road.
