• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Ride into flood devestated Central New York

Oh yeah, I'd prefer Saturday also. If it is Saturday, I'll probably go to and stay at my daughter's on Friday.
Does this mean you will be in Kingston Friday night.

Good[/QUOTE]

Yes, I'll be in Kingston Friday night.

This past Saturday the gf and I drove from Amsterdam Rt. 30 to 28; had to use the car b/c we were going to Kingston and then to Boston.

There was one section that was closed except for local traffic; we were locals on Saturday and went through. Whatever the rivers name, it still looked high in areas and it was definitely brown and a bit of heavy equipment at work.

Bob was right. It is a scenic route with sweepers.

One slight problem ocurred on Saturday that we didn't realize until Sunday. Saturday we took a detour to the Cobbleskill McDonald's. My gf went in while I watched our dog in the car. When she came out she mentioned there were a bunch of rude teenagers bumping into people. We didn't make much of it other than they were rude. On Sunday we left Kingston and stopped at a service area so the gf could get coffee. She went inside and came out empty handed. I asked what was wrong and she said her wallet was missing. After checking the car over and then my gf telling me that the teenagers had crowded around her the day before at the Cobbleskill McDonald's and had bumped her, I realized it was a bump and grab. So, my gf lost a wallet with license and $400. Okay that's it for my tale of woe.

I'm sorry those college punks in Cobelskill got ya. I was born there and that town was never like that when I was young. It was a great small town when I was young, but the College came in and it went to hell. We will see you Saturday. Holly observed that it does not sound like your girlfriend will be joining us by your last sentence. Is that true ???

why are you going there

why are you going there? is it devastated countryside or towns and cities?

Towns got hit hard... The cities are safely tucked away in other regions...:roflblack:
A "City" up here is a Town that's got payphones out on the street...Towns just have gossips behind every fence...

volunteer

are you all going to volunteer to re-build some poor individual's home, or are you going to gawk from the seat of your 25,000 dollar toys?:dontknow:

Others are taking their wives, right? If that's the case, she said she will be with me. She just didn't want to be the only female there.

Local motorcycle groups in our Albany area have made sure we try and bring some needed supplies to the areas we ride through..These people continue to need much and so appreciate any help or donations given. We try not to just ride by without helping in some manner...Hope you feel the same as you enter these regions..Enjoy the ride and help however you can.... :O)

It sure did for me when I was taken into this area 2 weeks ago. A relief fund has been set up for monetary donations. Checks made out to Town of Prattsville Relief Fund. C/O NBT Bank, P.O. Box 380, Grand Gorge, NY. 12434 I kind of resent the tone of your post without knowing whom your speaking to. here is a special video for you. please forward. youtube.com/watch?v=-ZWqUpZVm-o This is the correct address, but I am not very computer literate to make the link, can someone help, it's a great video.

Weather still looks good for Saturday, but if you are going to eat I would be there 9:45 to play it safe. I would like to leave at 10:30, not sure if we time restaints or not. If we don't then we can go at an even more leisurely pace.

Good point...:2thumbs: 10:30 if you're just ryding and "9:45ish" if you're "filling the tank" first!
Why would anybody leave on an empty stomach?? :dontknow:

We are going to try to be there by 9:45 to eat with you all. Is there a gas station near the diner because we will be needing fuel for our bellys and our Spyder when we get there.

I hope RT 30 is open all the way down because thats how we are coming.

There is a section that is closed, except to local traffic. But, like I said up above, we were locals last Saturday. I think there were two places in the closed section (if I remember right) where they were doing road repair. I'm sorry I can't be more specific; but, I didn't stop and gawk on my $14,500 spyder (when new).:roflblack:
