There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Ride home from the BBQ

So Kim,
This trip is going to end of being a costly one aye? You have a whole lot of new things to add to your spyder mods. It's gonna be a fun winter :D:D I know for myself, having my highway boards and my bikersfriend bag really helps on those long highway rides. It gives me many more choices of seating positions.

By the way, it was great to finally meet you in person. I wish we had more time to spend and next time we will have some more time and be able to get some riding in. It is a shame Brian and I went all that way and didn't take any rides.

At first it was gonna be a costly ride LOL! But now I've gotta try and do with what I already have (cept for the highway pegs - I really need those). I will take Scotty's advice and make my own travel backrest when I pack up. I can handle 2 - 300 mile days but the last two were over that and being all highway I was toast by the time we got home. CHAD works, I'll just keep adjusting it on the highway. Just like the looks of the yellow Corbin fairing but when I found out how much that was I almost fell off my chair - this stuff is worse than Harley do dads! Way more expensive.

So off to find some highway pegs and I want to do that right away. I'll take my time w/ the other stuff.

Was awesome meeting you and Brian too! Next time we'll have to do a ryde together! I don't see myself staying in Gatlinburg again - I was pretty happy with the Comfort Inn closer to Lamonster's place. Gatlinburg was nice but crowded trying to get through town- I'd rather be out in the mountains somewhere. Saw some lodges right IN the mountains - wonder how those would be? Looked pretty nice too!

We stayed at the Best Western Executive Inn in Bulls Gap, TN. REALLY nice and the price was around $70 and had a HOT breakfast bar. We had stayed at the Crazy (Super) 8 the night before. UGGG dump. Just a few miles from Lamonts and easy access to the turn off to his house. If we make it next year, that's where we will be. From there we can find some good rides.

Kim:
Please let us know on what U and HDX decide on the h way pegs and where to put them ..
Im dangling my feet with ya!:yikes:

Speaking of long rides... my new custom seat was fantastic.. Only disconfort is the swelling in my hands and wrists. Just not used to the twisties.

Glad all arrived home safely..

"new custom seat"?! I sure looks like a sofa to me! :roflblack: (OK...I'm just jealous!)

I have highway boards and I still dangle my feet sometimes just for a change of pace and a bit of a stretch.

Thx Dudley - good to know - I'll keep it in mind. I'll NEVER EVER stay at the Red Roof again - TOTAL DUMP. I even asked to change room cuz it smelled so bad - very "dank" smell (HDX said it smelled like cat P) so we got another room and the same thing. Plus it wasn't in the most picturesque spot of Gatlinburg - there was some old nasty looking abandoned one across the street - it looked spooky! Saw a bunch of nice hotels in there for not much more $$$ but I don't want to stay near town - too crowded. Only one I'd stay at is the big one w/ the big logs outside - forget the name of it but it was only $70.

The rest of the way we stayed in Country Inns and Suites and Comfort Inns - awesome - got discounts from the travel brochures at the visitor centers and had a nice hot breakfast every day! Eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, toast, fruit, coffee, juice and sausage & buiscuits - YUMMY.:2thumbs:

HDX said we already have pegs off one of the Harleys at home so all I need is the brackets now. Just a stock peg from one of my old bikes I think. And I changed my mind - I want the cruise assist from Magic Man first. I think we might be doing an over nighter in the next couple of weeks so I'll try that first. I can still dangle my legs for a while or stand up when I'm not plugged in w/ my gerbings :)

I rest my feet on the black spoiler when I need to stretch.

Be very careful dangling the legs as it almost got me in trouble, thats why I got a hand brake. The ISCI floorboards took care of the leg cramps. I do have hyway pegs but they don't get used much. Did see you guys at Lamonts, but did'nt get to say high. If you get a chance to get into the catskills, give me a PM and i'll give you a tour.

You're not far from us at all! We gotta do some ryding!

So what happened - you hit a shifter or break by accident when dangling them?

I needed the brake right away, but I did'nt find it quick enough. I was at the back of a group of riders that just sped up (so did I) and then abrutly slowed. I weaved around one (my son) then found the brake.

I have gotten leg cramps when I tried to lift my legs back to the pegs suddenly after letting them hang down. That may be because they are to long to really dangle, even on my BMW. Anyway, makes for a slow reaction to the brake. If I am riding in formation, or am in traffic or the city, I never remove my feet from the regular pegs. Slows my reaction time.

But now I have the hand brake and feel much, much safer.

Close call! I will remember that when I do my dangling :)

Yeah, I don't do it in lots of traffic but the boring highway I sure did!
