Richard, if you do this would you be interested in selling your hanlebar mount?
You have to remove the windshield, top of dash, and the right side panels. Well worth the effort.

You'll need 2 of theseI seen where you had a couple adapter plates on yours. One for the dash and the other one on back of GPS. Where did you
get the extra and do you have item # from Ram? How long did you go between plates 2, 3 or 4 inch.
If the dealer pulled it out they should fix it for you. There's a tool for pulling the pins.Lamont order those parts and they should be on the way. Problem now, was at dealer today having chrome handle bars installed. While there I had them remove the GPS harness from handle bars so that I could reroute wires to the dash. I noticed that the black wire at the plug in part was pulled out of plug. Got any ideals how I can fix that?
Looks like that's your ground wire. Not even sure the wire is needed. It looks like its been loose for a while anyway. I guess I'll talk with the dealer and see if it can be fixed if not maybe get by with a jumper wire. That shouldn't be a problem?
I don't disagree that having a GPS as close as possible to your line of sight would be helpful, but I think that saying that "BRP was irresponsible" in putting it in the handlebar center is going too far. That means that tank bag manufacturers that include a map pocket are irresponsible, auto makers that put the GPS near the radio are irresponsible, and even the GPS manufacturers that instruct you not to block your field of vision when you mount the GPS are irresponsible. While there may be better or more convenient locations for the GPS, the factory location is an acceptable one. If you want it somewhere else, move it where you like it!Whatever it takes to get your sat-nav moved to where you can see the traffic with a minimum of eye movement is worth any amount of effort on your part. IMO BRP were irresponsible in siting the 660 down there between the handlebars. The sat-nav is a great tool but not when looking at it takes your attention away from the road. Pretty obvious safety concern, really, it makes you wonder what the h*ll they were thinking when they were deciding where to put it. :dontknow:
You can check out how and where I mounted my Zumo 550 in the DIY How To Step-by-Step Forum. "Mounting a Zumo up High" and "Mounting a Zumo up High - Job Done" may be of some use.![]()
