• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Request for "Spyder Ryder Resources" forum

Lamont,
I have a marvelous idea. Can you make a forum (Albeit semi off topic) call "Spyder Ryder Resources".

It would be a sub forum that offers help to other Spyder ryders on various knowledge and skills based on what we may do for a living (Or used to prior to those retiring). It's strictly volunteer. Hooking up those in need with those who know.

Example: I am an IT guy, with 23 years of expeirence in PC's Networks, Servers, etc. I have extnesive knowledge in R/C items. Robotics etc. This forum would be a place other Spyderlovers can visit to solicit help and ask questions. Some items may be completely not Spyder related, but some actually might.

Just an idea to help out.

If we could keep it to "free" services offered it might work. I tried this on another board and it turned into a place to post goods and services for hire and I don't want to create a board for that on a Spyder site.

:agree:Absolutely agree with you Lamonster. If they want to sell their products or services, let them become sponsors.
:firstplace:We have a very diversified community here and if they don't mind sharing the knowledge and expertise it would be out standing.:chat:

Perhaps rather than focus on what people 'do' for a living-- maybe it should be more about what skills the person has that they are willing to allow their brain to be 'picked' about.

Well, that's more of what I was thinking. I do computers for a living, but I do many many more hobbies that i have considerable knowledge in.

Yes it MUST be a free service. Even if someone contacted me with help on how to get rid of that nasty fake AntiVirus 2010 (or 2008 or 2009 variants). Its called being a good Samaritan. Good deed for the day. I know that if _I_ ever needed help on how best to upgrade my Spyder shocks myself, this would be a place to ask.
