• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Request for Bob Denman

Something has been bouncing around in my head for awhile. It's a bit, uh, strange so I've tried to ignore it. But it won't go away so I've decided to put it on the table.

We all know that Bob posts here from time to time. Nothing new there. But have you ever noticed how often he changes his avatar?

What? Do they wear out or something?

It's like the weather in Missouri! If you don't like Bob's current avatar, wait a few minutes, it will change.
He changes his avatar more often than I change my underwear! (which may say more about my hygiene habits than Bob's picture popping propensities!:yikes:). But I digress.

Here is my request Bob. Can you give us a chronologically sorted slide show of avatars that have represented you here on Spyderlovers?

Wow! I feel so much better now! :D It's true! Spyderlovers is therapeutic!

I used to change mine every 3 months or so, but then Lamont expressed his disappointment when I changed it just before I was "awarded" the stuffed Crazy Frog at the BBQ, so I changed it back so folks would recognize me. (The resemblance is uncanny...except I am younger. :roflblack:) Maybe Bob and Coz are travelling incognito.

I remember that... very bad timing! Then again, it's disappointing when you realize that your avatar is more identifiable than you are!

Maybe Bob is a cameleon... always changing his colors.

I agree with that! Just a look back at last year's SpyderFest... I was lucky enough to catch the very rare photo of Scotty and TicketBait with Scotty's avatar in the same pic, proving that him and the frog aren't one and the same.

Ah... I recognize Scotty, he's the one on the rocket... Who are those other guys? :dontknow:

It appears that is his 'un-sanitized' version...

Ron, if you didn't know any better, you'd swear that the three of them were brothers. :joke:

Scotty, to me the frog was the winner of all avatars. I can't tell you how many times it would (pardon the pun) jump out at me when I saw your response.

Now for Bob, it wasn't so much an avatar as it was one of those crazy symbols that you put at the end for some fun. Bob had this round eyeball that the eyes would go round and round in all sorts of directions. That one really made me laugh.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to notice that the #1 poster with nearly 17,000 has not shown up here.... :dontknow:
It's the weekend, he's not in the office much. I will be seeing him tonight if he has not posted by then.

Sorry guys! I was actually at a funeral this morning for a pretty decent guy...
But I've never kept track of the avatars; I'll delete one and go make up another without much thought to it. :opps:
Coz is the Avatar-Wizard! :firstplace:

I am actually leaving my NRA Avatar up for the time being to proudly announce my feelings about some of the recent lunacy that has occurred.
For those of you who don't know what the NRA stands for:
It is all about promoting firearms safety and responsible ownerhip. Think about; every time some nitwit ends up on page one with a bunch of firearms deaths attributed to them; it just wrecks it for those of us who enjoy our guns in peaceful ways.
I've seen an awful lot of really annoying rhetoric from folks who should know better...
"NRA deals Death"
"NRA wants criminals to have guns"
 :hun:

So I'm standing pat with this one for a while longer...

So, my hopes of an avatar hit parade are dashed.... I asked Lamont and he does not keep a history of them either. Think of the loss to humanity!
