There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Replacement fuel gauge

Does anyone know of a replacement for the fuel gauge currently on my 2013 RT-S? The gauge just stinks never showing the right amount of fuel in the tank. I wonder if there is a replacement that will read the fuel more accurately than the one we all have. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?:banghead:

you can disconnect it and use the digital one on the main screen

The digital gauge comes up on the right side with a bar indicator.

Just remove the "pod", that the auxiliary guages are hooked to, and the attachments are very clear.
You'll have to wiggle the bars a bit to get everything loose from the bike, but it's actually pretty easy. :D

No.
And you can't have just the temp gauge or just the gas gauge.
And you can have only one gas gauge.
Disconnect the gas gauge and the temp gauge will read off scale, disconnect the temp gauge and the gas gauge goes to zero.

So really the only solution is to install a new gauge such as you did, is that correct?

I would not recommend going for a replacement gauge. I had three on my 2010 and finally said "enough." Disconnected the analog gauges on both the 2010 and the 2011 and then used the digital gauges that are already programmed in.

Many have also installed auxiliary gauges to replace the gas/temp gauge set up.

The gas gauge on the 2014 RT is rock solid and the refuel light seems to come on at the same place on the gauge each time. Just below the top of the red section at the bottom.

I still do not rely on the gas gauge. Always set a trip meter to zero when refueling. As I near 200 - 205 miles or so, the refill light goes on. Usually 5 gallons and some change. Averaging 40 mpg now.

:agree: On my 2010; both fuel gauges that I used were... close guesses at the best!
I learned to ride by the trip odometer...
But the 2014; that gauge is about as accurate I've ever had in ANY vehicle!
Now; I trust the gauge enough, to ride by it!

Easy..!!

you can pull the four torx head srews that hold the instrument panel on and get to both guages. Be sure to put a towel around the neck of the steering column to keep from loosing those screws to the black hole gods...:roflblack: You can replace those guages with volt meter, battery condition, altimeter, oil pressue etc. The temp and the fuel will then be digital on the main screen and very accurate...

Fantastic Advice!!!

I once had my key slip from my fingers when starting my Trike and it slid right down into that abyss.... I was SOOO lucky to have been at work where I had a retracting grabber tool to gently fish it out...not my finest Spyder memory!

Mine doesn't. In fact I have no gauges on my display. If there is a way to set them to pop up, please let me know.

Have you completely disconnected the leads to the analog gauges (both temp and fuel)?

The digital gauge bar graph for temp comes up on the left side and the fuel comes up on the right.

No, I haven't done anything to the gauges. I was hoping there was a setting in the display to make the temperature and the gas gauges to come up.

No. You have to remove the dash panel (4 screws) then turn the bars hard left and wiggle the dash panel out so you can see the electrical leads on both gauges. Disconnect and tape the bare wires so they don't short anything unless you are going to install other analog units such as voltmeter and oil pressure then you can reuse them.
Replace the panel and start it up. As Roger says the digital readings will then appear.
The analog units are no longer connected.
