Remember the BMW Quadster?

The Kneeslider has a write up on the GG trikester(?) a K1200 BMW powered reverse trike, seems they tried to get the Quadster approved for sale in the USA and couldn't, so they took a wheel off. Anybody interested in a 150 plus HP Spyder?

Pretty awesome!!!! If I rode mostly single instead of two up, I would be seriously tempted if this comes to the US. I hope it does. Just because competition will be good for all of us riding the reverse trike design.

Wow, oh wow, does that looks sweet!!!!

I got to see the GG Quad up close and personal one day just by chance. There was a group that was riding all around promoting the machine last summer. The thing was pretty awsome. It had a full race suspension and a BMW Boxer engine, so it was plenty capable. I actually like it even more now that it's triked!

If they start producing these in numbers and can come in at a competitive price, they will sell big time. The Quad was in the $60K range, which to me was ridiculous...

It will be very interesting to see what price point they come in at with these.

Hey Mike! I know, dude, there was a big engineering effort to do the conversion to the Y configuration from the Quad, so there is up front R&D costs that will have to be factored in. Given that, The price point in my mind will be in the mid-fourties or higher. It is a great machine though! We shall see.

That, plus the fact it comes with a certain 3 letter name, is likely going to keep the price way above the Spyder. However, if they really want to tap the market and compete then they already have a baseline established with what BRP has done and their price points. We shall definitely see.

The original GGs were talking about 50K pricing...
But that thing is almost pretty enough to be worth it! :2thumbs:

Too bad if "street quads" didn't or won't get passed. I know a few people had comes across them on here, maybe during the legal duration of yes or no. Quads are street legal here in AZ, just not on highways or interstates, a good thing for now...nothing powerful to allow that. Aside from BMW effort to change that, not a lot of other street quads out there except for Lazareth. If it is a deadlock no on street quads, I am suprised...seems like something they would prefer to see over 2 wheels and we already have 3 wheels. As soon as they figure out how to tax it all, then they'll allow it. Or we could just vote them out of office, that place needs a serious cleaning anyways.

A video of a Spyder and a GG Taurus on some pretty interesting roads...

Doesn't look like there's anywhere to stow yur sunglasses, let alone anything else.
What with the size of the engine and drivetrain and that huge tank that beemers have.
I think I've got more stowage space on my Ducati.
Looks ok tho...
cheers

Room! Room! Looks like an interesting concept. $50-60K is way to expensive for most people though.

Don't know about German accounting--but in America--they are supposed to expense R & D costs as opposed to capitalizing them and pass them on to the consumers.

Companies tend to double dip though--they get a tax advantage for the expenses and then also try to get payback from the customer.

I do know both Ryders from the video-clip .. the owner of the GG is a french guy who had a lot of technical problems with his black-vidow-spyder RS .. thats why he changed (sold it now)
everone who has ever ryding in the rain (like me - last weekend 1000 mls)
knows, its very hard to hold 150HP on the street without ABS / VSS aso
without that it never will be a alternative for me
