• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear wheel soot?

Normal soot

:spyder2::spyder2: Normal brake dust......
I have started noticing something and am curious if others have noticed. My rear wheel is getting covered in a fine black powder that looks like soot. The wheel in the pictures below were cleaned approx 500 miles ago. Is this abnormal? I have almost 14000 miles onthe Spyder and have never noticed this kind of filth so quickly.

I have not noticed much brake dust on the Spyder, but I used to get it bad on a Kia Sportage I used to own. I switched to ceramic brake pads and it eliminated dusting altogether.

First I would make absolutely certain your drive belt is tracking correctly, and if it is then I'd switch to brake pads that don't leave dust. I don't have a recommendation because I haven't needed to replace my pads yet. When I do I will shop around though and get some that will do the job. I'm pretty tight with cash, but I don't skimp when it comes to brakes.

Belt alignment is good, no issues there.

After a decent ride; do the rear rotor or caliper feel "hot"?

The pads always rub on the rotors, That's the way there designed, So they'll always feel hot after a ride, and i assume that on a ride at some point in time you'll have used the brakes to slow down and stop which will also heat the pads and rotors.
