• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Wheel LED's

I am anxiously waiting the new Spyder Deuce wheel lights from GloRyder. My question is...I would love to light up the rear wheel also. I contacted Will @ GloRyder and he said that they don't offer anything. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could go to buy such a thing, if it's possible? Fyi, the color I chose for the front is purple, so I would want the rear to match. It would be awesome if I could find something for the rear to attach to the sway bar that was battery powered also, like a light strip (I know, keep dreaming). Thanks in advance for your help!

It would not be hard to wire up some LED's under the rear fender pointing towards the rear wheel. Be aware that any wires that get in the way of service work may be cut or broken so choose the locations and wire paths wisely

I put some led strips on the fender mounts. It lights the rear wheel up nicely. Its easy to wire in and you don't have to worry about changing the batteries.

Here's a link you'll want to check out. Kratos did an awesome job with his rear wheel leds.

Omg, I know I love his wheels! I looked into it though and from what I could see you have to drill the rims and run the wires that way. Seems to be a bit more difficult that what I want to get into, but it looks FABULOUS! oh and I got notification today that my GloRyders shipped out, I am PRAYING that they come in & I can install them this weekend!

I put strips on the underside of the swing arm as far back along the underside as I could go. Illuminates the visible portion of the wheel on my rt nicely.

TricLed's Halo Kit....

You can also try TricLed's Halo Underbody Kit. It may be just a tad more work than popping on the Glo's in the front, but it's still an easy install, and it'll light up the rear wheel and match the front. Plus Reggy will guide you through the install step by step. Which makes it better than just ordering random led's to put somewhere, and trying to figure out how to run the wires.

Glad you made it to the party, Kratos!
We've had some "enlightening" conversation about your excellent modifications... :ohyea:

could you wire them in with your rear license plate light?

I dont see why not. You wouldnt have any control when they come on. But as long as you dont mind that go for it. Its easy enough to run a wire to a switch on the dash. I just ordered a bunch of lights and switches to install ground effect light on a spyder in my neighbor hood. So if you want pictures let me know.

I would go with Arr Mihardes idea on the inside of the swing arm, I am currently working on a project myself to light the ground, all the vents in the tupperware, the back "cubby" created by my Corbins, the ground in all sections, and the A-Arm openings.

Basically I want my bike to glow inside with the purity of the light reaching the ground and surrounding areas. While my original ideas were not as intense as Kratos, he has poisoned my mind. The good news being that I have a spare set of rims to work with, so I can do it and ride while I work on the rims not on the bike. The additional items I am looking at will also light up the cluster and handle bars thanks to some "LED Wire" for kids bikes, all items are on the drawing board and in testing currently.

In the Dec 2012 issue of Roadrunner Motorcycle Touring magazine, there is an advertorial on page 8 for a product called Lunasee Active Lighting system: no wires, no lights, but utilizes Lunasee's LER (Light Emitting Rim) tape. www.lunasee.com $199.95 per pair

does it affect the battery life?

does all of the added lights and or extra gadgets in general reduce the battery life? I figure since you can't leave the spyder for more than a month without a battery tender that it must not be too powerful?
