There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Well...the Spyder is ready...the trailer is ready...bags packed...rain gear packed. Now we can relax and later get a good nights sleep :roflblack: or stay awake thinking about the trip. We'll be leaving around 7am and meeting up with Kelly (wildwoman) in Rockton, IL and traveling on to Bloomington/Normal, IL for day 1 (about a 10 hour day for us). This is going to be a great trip!!!:ohyea:

We made it to Bloomington-Normal in time for supper. And the rain missed us too! Now it's relax time, sleep. Tomorrow we'll meet up with Ann and Joe just south of Indy, that'll be a short day for us, today put on about 500 miles! Let's all pray for dry weather! -- Paula

Hope you all have dry weather, and safe travels, and we will see you soon. Thursday can't get here soon enough for me. :D

Stayed dry! We met up with Ann & Joe today in Columbus for lunch, then Ann lead us down some great country roads so we could get off the interstate. What a great route! Lots of twisties & hills! tomorrow should be great too!

We went to Lamont's BBQ today, what a great group of people. It was so much fun to meet the people behind the names on SpyderLovers. Thanks Lamont for letting us invade your home once again this year! On our trip back to Maggie Valley we had 7 Spyders, 1 V-rod, and a Kia Soul, in a caravan, we got plenty of looks going down I40.

Today was slay the Dragon Day! The mountain was swarming with Spyders and some of those two and four wheel thingys too. As Butch said "It was better than Disneyland!" :2thumbs: When we got back to Maggie Valley we headed to the BRP owners event at the festival grounds to sign in and pick the goody bag. It was nice to have the clothing there this year to purchase and some doodads for the Spyders too. We're hoping the weather will continue to be dry (just a few sprinkles today in the mountains).

Butch and Paula, Sounds like you two are having a great time. Thanks for posting. Just wish I could have joined in the fun this yr. :gaah:

Have a safe trip :2thumbs:

well our hope for dry didn't last long. Went Asheville to see the Bilt
ore Vilage and lunch, and the sky opened up on us! I think I. saw Dorthy and Toto blow past us! The event BBQ was nice, everywhere you looked there were Spyders in every color and lots of cool add ons. Well I'd better sign off and help Butch pack up the Spyders! By the way we are starting out in our rain suits!

We bid farewell to Our American Dave at the motel this morning in the rain and then had to pull over at a gas station to wait out a downpour. It rain pretty much til noon and that is when we saw the wall cloud! So a lunch break looked good, as we pulled into McDonalds in Morristown it start to blown, and we made it inside just as the heavens opened up! We got on the road about an hour or so later, still raining. As we went over Clinch mountain we went into the clouds and as we went over the top we came out into sunshine! The rest of the went much better, but all that rain put us behind quite a bit. We didn't get into Brownsburg, IN untin 9:30! Glad to be hitting the bed now.

Almost Home!

We made it to Wisconsin Dells today around 4:30. It was quite the ride this morning out of Indy, we took a gamble and left around 7:30ish but the rain caught us, with a big black cloud that was hanging pretty low, it looked like night time! It was the kind of rain that makes you wonder if you should pull over, but the Spyder brought us through it just fine.
We parted ways with Ann & Joe this morning in Indy, then Kelly in Illinois around 9:30 (CT). She headed north on IL 47, and we continued on 74 to I39 north.
We hit more rain and blew a fuse and had to pull off, and low and behold there was a NAPA store at that exit! Butch figured out the problem, unplugged that light, put a new fuse in, and we were back on the road. (he will be doing a fix it job in the motel parking lot tonight)
At least we are dry for now and ready for break, we decided to stay in the Dells another day!

I wish you safe travels rest of the way home. Hopefully the weather will decide to finally be a little nicer to you as well.

HOME!!!

We are home now! We used the Dells as a hideout...if we had gone straight home there would be no rest for Butch...climbed out of bed at 9:44am! Lots of clouds and a little mist (surprise!) there were little thunderstorms popping up all around us all day long, but only one that dumped rain for a short time. There were many naps, lots of book reading, a nice walk, then we ate at a great restaurant (House of Embers) another nap buy Butch, and I finished my book! A wonderful relaxing day.

We woke up to sunshine, but by the time we loaded up the Spyder, the clouds were already building.:gaah: The radar showed green blobs all along our route home, luck was with us this time and we only had a few sprinkles. Yes Ann, we did pull over and put our rain gear on when the sky got dark! It was good insurance! We stayed dry the rest of the way home!

We got in around 2pm, unloaded and got the laundry going right away!

What a wonderful trip...can't wait for the next one! :ohyea:

Glad you guys made it home. We finally washed the bikes today in between thunderstorms. We leave tomorrow for a VRod event where I may (or may not) take the Spyder on the drag strip. Looks like more wet weather here for Thurs and Fri but then nice for Sat and Sun. Hope you have fun this weekend too.
