• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is the benefit? I purchased it this morning thinking it was actually ratcheting.

Unless I'm missing something, the one end goes into a socket and you use an open end wrench on the other end. How is this better than using a ratchet?

There's a button in the end that you can't see in the photo. It just allows the ball to drop, making it easier to attach a socket.

I would think that in a tight situation, where you can get the socket on the fastener, but don't have room for the ratchet head, this might be useful. Also, in the same scenario, if because the fastener is unreachable by the wrench directly, the socket could again be useful.

clearance is the key I believe with these. It allows you to use a breaker bar instead of having to deal with the clearance of the ratchet head itself. It cold also be used with the ratchet in a close tolerance spot where you cant rotate the ratchet far enough to get it to the nect "click". Migh enable you to sort of get a shorter ratcheting action from it. I haven't used one though.
