• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

Tech and science can't be dumbed down so that the average dummy can understand it, that's just the nature of these things...

The average dummy doesn't need to understand anyways, leave that to the smart folks.

That might be OK if the congress, the judiciary, and the chief executive were all listed in the smart folks column.

They are listed in the popular column.

I remember back in the 60s while working for Boeing, Eastman 910 was used for some specific aircraft assembly applications. It was a highly controlled item that could only be used by people trained and certified. Those of us not certified had a very high fear factor instilled by the company. "One drop will forever bond your body parts together".

The primary fear where I was in the late 60s and early 70s was bleeding to death laying in the floor of a Slick or a C-130 for a 45 minutes flight to a hospital large enough to have some doctors who could sew you back together. My primary mission was to get as many dead and wounded dragged on to the plane in about 3 or 4 minutes as possible with all four engines running and the pilot standing on the brakes, winding up to get the hell out of Dodge before the mortars or rockets could zero in. If we got assigned the mission out from Alert status, maybe we had a Flight Nurse on board and maybe not. If we got diverted half way through our scheduled mission to some fire base that was being over run, we had to make do with whatever combat medics came on board with the wounded and whatever they had with them. Gluing a couple of your fingers together was not considered a major problem. The ambulatory patients sat on their steel pots because a 50 coming through the thin aluminium floor was considered a major problem. It was a different world.
