There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lots of open range here in the desert. A few years ago, in my 4 wheeling/off-road riding days, often came upon cattle wandering around. Most had cactus spines sticking out around their nose and mouth. And lots of Cholla cactus balls stuck all over. It looked painful but the cows didn't seem to mind. Guess their hides would look like pin cushions

When we tour thru the SE, we keep count of the Dollar Stores we pass. They're the General Stores++ of the past.
Hmm, I may build a route to connect as many as possible in a day or 3.
A slight digression but a similar vein. Does anyone remember the Wall Drug signs (like burma shave) and on old semi trucks, and old trailers ???? Back in 1984, our first trip to the Black Hills across SD from MN. The signs started in MN near the border. We counted over 350 Wall Drug signs between MN and Wall Drug. As the years progress the signs were fewer, but I would be interested in the current count. Any takers ???? :yes:
