Obviously, the money should go to the Kingdom Great Britain. That is who the founders of this country took the land from when the USA was formed. The conflict was something about taxation, if I remember correctly.

The Seminole Tribe was not fully subjugated in Florida; despite intense U.S. efforts to remove them during three brutal, costly wars (1817–1858), they resisted, with several hundred ancestors hiding in the Everglades. While thousands were forcibly relocated to Oklahoma (Trail of Tears), those who stayed managed to remain unconquered, maintaining their sovereignty and forming the modern Seminole Tribe of Florida.

While the tribe wasn't 'officially' defeated, it certainly doesn't sound as if things when their way. Perhaps you've heard of the Trail of Tears?

The Trail Of Tears is primarily the result of the removal of Cherokee and other tribes that were removed from the central and northern states. The Seminoles that were eventually removed from Florida went primarily by ship, and were transfered to Oklahoma Indian Territories. The members of the tribes who remain in Florida each recieve a little over a million dollars beginning when they reach their 18th birthday, from tribal business interests still operating in Florida. If you would like to contribute, take your contribution to some of the many casinos operated by the tribal investments in Florida or contribute through some of the tourism or cattle business ventures.

Songs are not generally accepted as historical proof of anything much. Going far enough back, every inch of land inhabited on the planet earth was stolen from somebody. Possibly we should give all the land back to anyone not originally from Africa who now possess some Neanderthal genes. Maybe I can find a song to support that fact.

Yes, the 125K is appoximately correct, however, that figure is an annual payment. It is disributed in smaller payments at closer intervals during the year.

The payments are not from the Federal Government. Those payments come from the business and investments of the Seminole Tribal Counsel.

Actually, I was not required to pay any federal income tax during some of the years that I was living outside the country. I guess where you live does have some affect on taxes.

I could not find a song to support my statement about the land with the exception of Africa being stolen from the Neanderthals. You will just have to accept the genetic markers that appear in the make up of modern homosaphiens as the evidence of that. The Neanderthals did not originate in Africa, so anyone having Neanderthal genes in their genetic makeup either interbred with the homosapiens migrating from Africa or descended from the Neanderthals who originated in Asian or European areas and generally intermixed with the migrants from Africa. Those migrants originating in Africa stole the land from the Neanderthals who were living there first.

Yes, I was aware of her when I posted. I left it out since it happened at a slightly later time and the original material was still from the earth.

I thought I had the answer at first, but somebody kept moving the goal posts around and changing the conditions every time I updated the answer to suit the new context.

My taxes are not all that bad when I look around at what people pay in most other states.
