• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

We had one that was a piece of furniture. It had B & W TV Radio and a record player and a big speaker. We got 3 channals on UHF and later a 4th channel on VHF. The antenna was on the roof.

The Life class is taught by the family. It has nothing to do with the schools. Back in the 40s and 50s it was taught by parents, uncles, aunts, and older cousins. It also included courses on fishing, hunting, and trapping. Gardening was part of it too. In the shop classes at school, I learned to use power tools, welding, cutting, and woodworking. All that was passed along to my son, by me, his grandparents, his uncles and aunt.

We got much more exercise with those older TV's. Now, with cable, and remotes, not so much.
Yes, we sure did...not only getting up to change the channel, but going outside to repoint the antenna. We received 2 1/2 channels. CBUT out of Vancouver BC, KVOS out of Bellingham Wash., and KCTS (sometimes) out of Tacoma Wash. then we needed another antenna to sometimes get KOMO and KING out of Seattle, Wash. this was back in the ‘50’s.

I taught all my kids how to change oil and a tire, even the girls, before they could go get their driver's license.

you too, huh? There were a couple of mandatory things the kids "had to know how to do", prior to getting there Drivers Licence......change oil and change a tire, and YES, my daughter too.
